I will say this though, if SKY insist on a London team, then it's time to put up or shut up.....Melbourne (100%) and Brisbane (67%) are the 2 main expansion teams in the NRL......without News Ltd propping them up, they'd be in the same boat as London....
Just a thought!'"
I agree with this. The RFL should adjust the rules to help London be a success. Yeah people may not like it but it will benefit the game.
Also I know they are struggling for crowds but remember there must be plenty of london/south based RL fans who support northern teams. I am one one of them so I dont help the london cause at all.
I am spending money traveling north to watch Rugby League.
Then there is the issue of player development, we need a a presence in the south. How will England ever be a dominant force when its player pool is only from the M62 corridor. It is vital that talent from the south and other areas make it into the professional game.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

I agree with GF as well, just do it out in the open and above board, no problem

| What must David Hughes feel about the Bradford saga?
A heartland club with a 10,000 fan base up the financial crapshoot? What chance have London - long term on crowds of 2,300?
He's a dickwad 99% of the times but have a read of Leaguefreak's article (The Bradford Bulls Are The Canary In The Coal Mine, And They Are About To Die ) and tell me that it isn't absolutely bang on the money .........

| No they can't, let's finally give the Cougars the chance they deserved in 1996 instead of FCBQE.
|
|
|
|
| Gutterfax my problem is FCBQE contribute nothing to other clubs, where the likes of us do, eg watch us take 1500-2000 to Cas on Friday night.

Fully aware the lack of away fans bothers you roofs....it bothers many, including the Bradford Chairman who wanted to vote us out in 2005......what's that saying about it being a dish best served cold...
For RL to ever become a NATIONAL sport in the UK, a team in the SE is a must.....but the RFL would rather spend money to preserve a hole of a ground that is Oddlsum. (sod the heritage bollox.....they bulldozed wembley quick enough).
London will survive this licence period....after that, I believe they will drop down to CH level unless an investor can be found to replace St David Hughes.

There was already a long history of the sport in the south of France.

| 50 miles along the M62 is a piece of compared to trying to get from one side of London to another, you should try it one day then wonder why a nomadic team such as 'London' don't have the fan base many clubs do that have/had close knitted communities at the heart of their clubs. It makes a massive difference.

Does the rugby union club that play at the stoop gather its support off the doorstep or do they come from all over?
