sorry thats not a sell out. you said "fill" stadiums, the wallabies havent had a sell out in years
try again
why have crowds for this game slumped 14,000 since the soceroos made the world cup?

| Quote: Sal Paradise "But it is still going and regularly draws crowds for games against NZ in Australia that RL could only dream about.
The two sports have very different focusses and if you think because you get a big TV deal you will kill rugby union and their players will all come to RL and kids will not want to play for the all blacks you are in for a nasty shock.'"
That was because the All Blacks bailed them out playing them most years.
It's a weird thing the Kangaroos have a better winning percentage then the All Blacks and don't attract the crowds that the AB's do.
I think the AB's still have that aura about them that's why they attract big crowds

The point is this - I will try and make it simple
Dally and his mates think that because the NRL will get a justified TV deal that they will be able kill RU off once and for all.
My point is this will not happen because the two sports are very different - RL has always relied on the clubs to generate its revenue and RU has always been underpinned by the international game.
Whilst there is still a media interest for the international game RU will always prosper regardless of what happens in RL.

| the problem union has is given its weak club game, it need money from interationals to stay alive
but with soccer internationals dwarfing unions, where can they go now
if the soceroos stay strong it will only further damage union

if the wallabies and all blacks lose their best players interest in int. ru will slump even more
int. rl is on the rise again
look out for tonga, samoa and fiji with all their kids in the nrl
RL is well on its way to dominance in the pacific

| RL is a growing sport
union is a declining one
as every year passes things get better for us and worse for them
we are nowhere near potential in australia, let alone nz
well be expanding for over a decade.
crowds have doubled, memberships have doubled and tv revenues are soon to double

people wont pay to watch poor players
weve got years of growth in nz'"
How many All Blacks stars have NRL clubs signed in the past 15 years?
It will not happen whilst these players have options in Europe - you under estimate the game here and its strength.
RU is all the things you say - boring, tedious etc but you will not kill the sport because the NRL gets a big TV deal - it simply will not happen

1. all sydney clubs to have at least 10,000 members
2. some sydney clubs like souths or dogs to double current crowds
3. the rest of them averaging at least 15,000, some over 20,000
4. newcastle in their new ground over 30,000
4. broncos to break through 40,000
5. second brisbane club to get 30,000
6. central coast to get 18,000 +
7. warriors to get to 20,000
8. 2nd nz nrl side to get 20,000
9. nrl top players on 2 million plus pa
