they've always had bigger crowds, they've had memberships going for decades.
We have only just started memberships 2 years ago and at that time, we had around 15k all up, this year, we've already reached 120k+.
It takes time.
You have to remember to that they play out of two big stadiums in Victoria thathas very good transport, RL plays in Suburban grounds scattered all over the joint.
Victorias biggest regional town is Geelong, it's half and hour away from Melbourne.
RL has fans scattered all over regional NSW and QLD, some fans travel up to 6 hours each way to get to games on the weekend.
You can't compare them, but you can compare who is watching on TV.
I know it's hard for you people to realise how frigging big this country is.
The only team in the AFL in a regional area is Gellong, the rest are in the cities making it a lot easier to get to games. |

Crowds must be down on last year or Dally would crowing - that is a worry for a game will dodgy finances - the AFL must be laughing their socks off

I know exactly how Oztam works. She told me years ago. Even Dally knows that.
Are you still sure it's only in state Capitals as you stated???

Who's crowds are down?
The only code in Australia to grow crowds, TV ratings, Juniors and all the rest last year was RL, the AFL fell down in the crowds. |

the nrl regularly gets crowds over 20,000
but why are you ignoring TV ratings?

oztam excludes regional markets ie those where win tv and nbn (newcastle are shown)
in terms of friday night games this underestimates RL viewers by 500,000 per game.

Mate, I know it's in English which may be difficult for you, but Oztam's website show they look at regional stuff.
