How can a club expect to attract new supporters to watch that?'" Do you really know so little about RL or are you just trying to be controversial?

How is suggesting Crusaders may struggle in any way controversial? How is following that up by suggesting a failure on the field may result in a lack of interest in terms of crowds in any way contorversial?

crusaders survival in SL is important for the development of international RL.
if SL can have strong clubs in 3 countries, thats a real poke in the eye to the enemies of the game'"

t's a bit early to be declaring "major combat operations" to be over. Crusaders have done reasonably well since their move in terms of off-field matters and have given themselves a chance of making a success of it whereas before they were doomed.
However, if they don't perform on the field then the big crowds will melt away as they have done with expansion clubs in the past. We will have a better idea of what's going to happen after Friday. Talk of 100-0 is silly but it is hard to say how Crusaders will perform when they have had so little preparation.

As much as I would have liked to have seen them successful in South Wales there was never the interest to support a club at the bottom of the table. (As there was in the South of France).
In North Wales it'll be the same, were they competitive they might do okay, but with the squad they have (Made up of trash from the NRL plus a few Welsh players) they will be lucky to win a game this season. How can a club expect to attract new supporters to watch that?'"
much better coaching set up
better imports
theyll win a few games but still be bottom 2 with salford.
if they can average 4000 - 5000 and continue next year ill be v.happy

all clubs have falling crowds when the on field product falls eg bradford.

If you read between the lines about Maguires start at Wigan, you can see that Noble's influence wasn't a positive one. He knows a thing or two about making players perform when it matters, but his hold over behaviour, fitness and training practices is questionable.
You mention better imports, such as who?
If they averaged between 4 and 5 thousand it would be a success. But can anyone see them getting that sort of gate if they are not playing well?

fairly succesful GB coach
got wigan to within 1 game of SL GF for few years.
massive coup for the club which came last.
they will be a much stronger team than last year.
their imports last year were dreadful. they arent worldbeaters this year but they are solid.

Firstly, Bradford's crowds fell from a much higher base than Crusaders are ever likely to get and so are fairly respectable even now.
Secondly, Bradford has established tribal loyalty in its set of fans. The casual fans might have drifted away but the hard core are still there. Crusaders just don't have hard core fans in Wrexham.
They have a chance to make something of the move but they really have to perform well on the field to take the opportunity.

It wont happen
Superleague in Wales will not last beyond the end of 2011. There is simply not the interest.

Many have said the same about London for example. What about rugby league in general?

| I personally wish Crusaders luck for this season! I can't wat to see the success of this first game!
Great to see it as the main story on SSN.
I think they will suprise a few on friday, they will play better than most people think. Only 18 points in it, fitness will be key. I could be wrong and the second option will be 597 to nil.
