wakey twice have promised to improve BV and failed.
very shortly after the franchise decisions were made, it was announced by council the ground in thornes park wasnt going ahead. im sure the timing was purely co-incidental.
so to sum up
So again it's just random ramblings from a fool incapable of putting forward a cohesive argument.
If you knew anything you would know BV has been improved in line with all promises to a point which makes sense. However there is no point taking it any further as a new stadium is the clubs stated aim. FACT not your FICTION.
The money from SKY goes to Superleague Europe Ltd and not the RFL. It is distributed evenly between it's member clubs.
Again, please show evidence of falling crowds, 7 seasons on the up, 1 slightly down WOW.
Knowsley Road, the Willows and the Jungle are also falling to bits. One of these clubs Saints has been the most succesfull in SL history and has not spent a penny on it's ground - why so selective.
Grow the game, how clueless are you?
Yes the Councils decision was all part of a brilliant plot, no really.
A packed Halton Stadium, Widnes failed to make it in SL and rarely had a full house if ever, but hey don't let fact get in the way.
Conclusion, I feel you may be mentally ill.

I thought they dropped very slightly from 2007 to 2008 and then by 13% from 2008 to 2009. A fall that could be judged more than slight, especially when finishing 5th. If you can point me in the direction of the actual figures that would be appreciated.
The wildcats should be safe for SL if their stadium is being built in early 2011. If not then they will join the likes of salford/crusaders , Cas and maybe Quins under the kosh. The desire of several SL clubs to consider a 12 team SL will add to the pressure.

According to SLStats, 2007 were 6,782, 2008 were 6,962 and 2009 were 5,892 (which I think includes the extra game of the Catalans play off; excluded my rough maths makes it more like 6k), so the drop is 2008-9. I'd agree it is a little more than slight, although I think there are some valid explanations for it and we weren't the only club to suffer as such. Viewed from the longer term, things seem rosier.
Agreed over the stadium issue. 4 of the existing clubs have made big noises and they need be showing tangible progress before 2012 (although I'm sure Saints could get away without doing so). That said, I think recent events in Wales may make the RFL a little more cautious over acting against an existing SL club from the heartlands. Arguments that there are other clubs ready and waiting are all well and good, but in some respects there is a greater onus on those currently outside SL to prove their worth than for those already inside.

hows it random.
its a history of your failure.
2 semis in all that time and nothing else.
a club which adds very little to SL and whose time is almost up
do you know how bad BV looks watching a game on TV, its like the game is stuck in the 1960s.
thankfully franchising will finally see your demise

at least a few times a week i think about wakey and how theyve failed to do anything in SL.
i cant wait to see them get what they deserve.
my opinion is the club knew when it made its franchise application there were major problems with the stadium re. council and kept it quiet.
the RFL should have learnt from its mistakes on wakey.

their crowds fell quiet a bit last year.
sure if we are going back over 10 years theyve risen from a low base.
did wakey even fullfill half the promises they made in their franchise bid?

crowds fell by 15% last year on your figures and you came 5th ie a good season on the park.
hopeless.
in their current stadium wakey just arent a SL club
perhaps being placed in NL1 will force council into doing something, if not, thats where they belong
even a club like halifax will probably make a stronger SL side than wakey now theyve finished their ground

There's a few other clubs that fall into this net too. Why single out Wakey?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |
