Just got the funded/preferential treatment from all your creditors and a cheap land deal from Hull City Council instead

You thought entirely wrong. The RFL didn't pay a penny.

Okay I apologise.
Although I haven't got Sky these days so that's not a problem. Hey what's with the avatar then Gutterfax? Sounds like Sky was on your side in terms of your (alleged ) importance to their deal?

SLY TV moved a Quins Game, in France from Saturday to Sunday, with 6 weeks notice. Many Many Quins fans (oh, OK, both of them ) were left with a weekend in France and the return flight taking off........just as the re-arranged fixture was kicking off.
The only reason we could see for this was that SLY TV wanted to test the waters when it comes to moving games in France.
You can see why they chose us. Our mini-protest got a fair bit of RL press coverage and was even debated at the all party parlimentary RL group meeting.......imagine the stink if they'd tried it out with say Wigan, Wire or HKR?

| Quote: Roofs "Do think it's wrong the control that Sky have over fixtures.'"
I think Sky pay for it, so they are entitled to move games.
BUT
The problem is, I would suspect that fans from every club look at the Catalan away fixture as soon as the full seasons list is released. RyanAir and EasyJet operate an excellerating pricing system, so the earlier you book and the emptier the plane, the cheaper the flight, so many people book their France Weekend back in Feb. As Cataland have ALWAYS played their games on Saturday evenings, the majority of fans book the return leg of their trip on the Sunday, so they can be back at work on Monday.
The quotes from Ryanair to move flights to the Monday were in the region of £100 each and the additional night in the hotel, food, beer and a day off work means about another £250 to £300 on top of what is already the most expensive trip of the year.
By the way....like my sig?

Not people like me, though I do look out for fixtures like Headingley, The Jungle etc.
Like I said does sound like I hell of a lot of expensive and inconvenience to say the very least. Did you make the game then?
No it's mean. Hey you noticed I've still got yours on my sig.

| Quote: Roofs "Did you make the game then?'" Strange as it may sound I was probaly the most vocal protester about this fixture change and I didn't even go (work, not principles ).
I wrote to every SL Chairperson, the RFL, SL, SKY and the Rugby League press (letter was published in one). Got responses from most, all supportive except the RFL who spouted the usual cr@p about Sky having the rights to do as they want.
I hope that the stink this caused, no matter how small, served as a warning to SKY that they shouldn't ever change a Catalans fixture in France again. (fat chance)
