Selectors stick with tried and tested icon_biggrin.gif THE bolters were few and far between as Australian Rugby League selectors stuck with recognised talent in naming their Four-Nations train-on squad today.

The squad, from NRL sides missing the finals, contains 18 players - 14 of whom played in this year's State of Origin series.

icon_biggrin.gif Price's unavailability has opened the door for the likes of Galloway, St George Illawarra pair Justin Poore and Michael Weyman and Brisbane powerhouse Dave Taylor for next month's trip to the northern hemisphere to take on England, France and World Cup holders New Zealand.

Selectors will continue to add players as sides bow out of the premiership race, with a Prime Minister's XIII to be named on Monday week for the annual clash with Papua New Guinea.

Australia Squad

Johnathan Thurston, Luke O'Donnell, Matthew Scott (all North Queensland), Nate Myles (Sydney Roosters), John Sutton (South Sydney), Paul Gallen, Luke Douglas (both Cronulla), Terry Campese, Joel Monaghan, David Shillington, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs (all Canberra), Michael Jennings, Trent Waterhouse, Luke Lewis, Petero Civoniceva (all Penrith), Robbie Farah, Chris Lawrence, Keith Galloway (all Wests Tigers).

he is australian. it is our ridiculous rules which enabled players to play for another country after players such as hayne missed out on their national team. the arl are so obssessed with 'evening up' the teams they allow countries to make farcical selections instead of actually developing national teams.

In response to the england selection thread, and how difficult it was to pick a decent 3/4 line I just got to thinking about the Australian options I have seen this year... and without trying I came up with 18 players who If English would be ahead of the current international incumbents...

Jared Hayne, Israel Falou, Greg Inglis, Joel Reddy, Eric Grothe, Luke Burt, Josh Morris, Brett Morris, Matt Cooper, Justin Hodges, Jamal Idris, Jarrod Croker, Willie Tonga, Jamie Lyon, David Williams, Adam MacDougal, Michael Jennings, Beau Champion,

Im sure there are more

for the NZ team there are more than 10 top class players competing for the 4 threequarter positions...

its a sobering thought!
