that the RFL were wrong to move a club 26 miles from Widnes, especially as they are also only 30 miles from Warrington

no it doesnt. Some things are completely independent of other things. Not every thing in the world is linked. But some things are, im not sure how this constitutes a riddle, i would think it is just common-sense.

But i will give you an example in the hope that this strange meltdown stops. Some would argue that the Premier League exists in a bubble, that the actions of other sports, the economic downturn, etc etc, dont affect it because it is in such a strong position. People still attend, TV rights are still paid, prices are still high for advertising etc, its a turn of phrase, and not something which applies to lower league RL

So we are agreed, Keighley and Halifax can target who-ever they like, and are in competition with each other for every fan everywhere in every corner of the world.

But if we want to know why the competition between Keighley and Halifax for Bingley is different from their marketing battle over London we just need to back a bit and ask ourselves again, D[io you think London is as big a part of the potential market for Keighley and Halifax as Bingley?[/i

The distance is irrelivant , the vast majority of marketing in most cases , especially smaller clubs in any sport will take place in the town/city that that club plays in
