| Quote MjM="MjM"So Fax fans berating Bradford fans for their club "walking away from their obligations" is somewhat hypocritical? Moreso as Fax owed Leeds and Wigan tens of thousands of pounds in transfer fees which, AFAIK, is not the case at the Bulls. That Halifax managed to pay pennies in the pound through the mechanism of a CVA is a moot point IMO.'"
Do you have a link that shows Fax owed the money you have stated to Leeds and Wigan?
What ever debt Fax had, they paid what was agreed and came out of the CVA. They didn't "go bust" as you stated. They were close however, and they then cut costs accordingly.

I know the difference between a CVA and what the Bulls are proposing to do. The net result in both cases is that creditors will lose out. Fax also dismissed staff, including the coaching team, made redundancies in back office, subsequently appealed to fans for £100k etc etc.
There is limited information floating around out there about the details of the CVA, but if you search through RSRL there is reference to it. IIRC Leeds were one of the creditors who voted against the CVA, Fax still owing them for Graham Holroyd's transfer fee.
At the time I happened to work with the most prominent Fax fan on these boards, in his day, and got blow by blow accounts of the unfolding Blue Sox disaster; it was not pretty and no one took any delight in it - it seems this is not the case today.

So you don't have anything to back up your statements? Ok we can ignore them then.
And just to correct you yet again, when fax entered the CVA they didn't appeal to fans for donations. This was in 2006, when the needed to make up a shortfall in finances to see the season out. The majority of this money was given by our ex chairmen Howard Posner.

I stand corrected on the appeal for money. I honestly can not remember that at all, so my appologies.
As for money owed to Leeds and Wigan, where does it state that they were both owed 10's of thousands of pounds?

A CVA for a few hundred thousand is a lot different to over £1.5 million plus how did we owe Leeds and Wigan owt when there are no transfer fees any more that article is typical journo rubbish???
Bradford owe the TAXMAN huge sums not some local traders. Plus we appelaed to our own fans to get us out of the mire and we did.
You aint comparing apples with apples here

You aint comparing apples with apples here'" Holroyd had a year of his contract to run, hence a transfer fee was paid - IIRC from the Leeds accounts of the time this was £50k, most of which appeared also as a subsequent bad debt. Failing to pay fellow Rugby League clubs and local traders is in my view worse than failing to pay HMRC but the difference is somewhat irrelevant.
Fax did not get "out of the mire" with no loss to others. They used a CVA and did not pay their creditors in full. Bradford look to be going a prepack route. Either way people owed money will lose out.

| My family and quite a few friends lost a fair amount of money with the Halifax shambles .
Wish fellow Halifax fans would get real and realise we are nowhere near ready enough to step up to SL. Let our Flat Capped Friends step up instead

Way off. 2007 is not "less than 3 years ago. "
