Never mind what reactions some people are coming up with on Forums, these forums are full of people who dream of the game going massive in North America, the game setting up a European League, the game setting up successful clubs in Rugby Union land, the game going Anglo-French, Transatlantic or even a world league where SL and the NRL meet. All this is real to them and funded of course by bags of scotch mist.....
Many of their dreams were dug up again when they heard of venture capitol, that being completely free money that rich individuals will give RL clubs in spades to spend with no need to pay anything back at all. To them the problem is "Northern clubs" in towns who nobody of course has ever heard of. They are getting close to their dream of the Anglo-French league in which more French clubs join SL. They imagine there's pots of gold at the end of chasing these rainbows because this is "The greatest game" and the rest of the world just needs to get a glimpse of it we will conquer the world.
In the real world the majority of fans simply want to see the game prosper. They see how Soccer and Union "prosper" via rich owners, and they welcome such rich owners as I do especially those who are pantomime villains like Degsy.........

Well seeing as i wasn't the first to mention Salford on this topic ,my thoughts are would the Doctor have had more success at Salford if the club had still been at the Willows among its long term fan base & would success have attracted more fans to make the club more viable than being out at Barton where ,apart from its first season, attendances have dropped as you assert. Perhaps Marwan would benefit Leigh if he is coming into a club that has not moved from its fanbase.
Incidentally ,have Sale Sharks benefitted from the new stadium ? |

Looks like they average about 6,200 a season....that's about 25% down on where they were before they moved in. They made an offer in April, probably based on the success they've seen wasps have in coventry where they're 10,000 better off per game + other revenue streams.

I’m not sure Dr K would want to swap his millions and properties / assets for a stadium in Leigh. No offence at all to Leigh but he’s likely to make more money from his current assets than a stadium |

Wasps lose millions every year and have been forced to refinance their debts a couple of times already because they were unable to make the repayments. They're not a success story at all. |

I believe they are in debt to the tune of 50 million, with 60% to the bank and 40% to the owner. I suspect if you wanted to build a stadium of that magnitude again, you'd be spending a similar amount, so they're not panicking just yet. As for not being a success at all.....they have 17k average gates where they used to have 6k......fiscally they're owned by a very wealthy man so the debt isn't yet a problem, but they're far better off than they were at wycombe....compare their story with say Bradford and tell me which is the bigger basket case? |

Probably true, yet the stadium at LSV makes revenue from Manchester United Reserves, Manchester United Ladies, Leigh Centurions, Rugby League Internationals, Lionel Ritchie & Elton John concerts.
