Just got back off holiday and expected all £20 tickets to be sold out. Went up to Red Hall around midday and had a good choice of £20 tickets left. Ended up right behind the sticks in the North Stand.

You always get a few angst-ridden souls making a point of telling us how worried they are / how disappointed they would be / how disgraceful it would be / etc if X game was not a sellout, or if they weren't at least Y 000. In RL alone, the hypothetical "low" attendance seems to strangely attract pathological worriers.
We also have similar troubled souls who will after a game, in all earnestness, report what the "real" attendance actually was, ignoring the actual tickets actually sold or the actual number of actual people through the turnstiles. Because "they know". They "can tell" it was never any more than X000, and no way was it as much as Y000.
It's as weird as it is predictable.'"
Personally I think attendance is important and it is important how is looks on TV. Having 10,000 at an England International is embarrassing to our sport IMHO compared to however many thousands at Football and Rugby Union.

Spot on. They must know who's fit and who isn't by now.
I hate the fact that no one will name a bloody team until an hour before the game. Does it really matter if the opposition knows beforehand ? Declare your hand and say 'beat that'.
It does nothing at all for publicising the game or creating pre-match talking points.

| According to a post on the Hull forum the remaining tickets will be available on the gate. Only about 1500 left I reckon though.

[quote="Saddened":15kig0eg]Pat Richards is poop. A typical, average, run of the mill NRL outside back. Nothing special at all. Like Barrett he is a myth. He is solid enough, he can catch, he can kick goals.[/quote:15kig0eg]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7958.jpg |

Exactly, far too mnay people underestimate crowd figures. 10,000 at Leigh hardly inspires any major sponsors or publicity. Crowd figures are massive part of any sport and the ones who arent bothered arent the ones dealing with the finances/sponsors etc of the clubs. Low crowds just shows how far behind our sport is. 25,000 sellout at Hull should be no problem if we are serious about developing International RL.

| Haven't been to an England/GB game since a very one sided GB-NZ game at the KC in 2007...but it really felt like international RL was 'back' tonight, the atmosphere was far better than at any of the previous 3 GB games at the KC and for the first time in many years I have belief in our (mostly) young team.
I was unconvinced at the change from GB to England at the time, but having seen the amount of flags, chants and songs at the game tonight I am convinced it was the right move to push the International RL 'brand' forward.
