| Actually after actually really thinking about this i'm going to go for Mal Reilly, winner of the Lance Todd, played and coached GB, won a world cup, did well in Oz. Mal deserves a statue and he's well known on both sides of the world.

This, by a country mile. Plaque underneath simply reads 'Poor lad!'

| A two-sided statue, one side Don Fox on his knees, the other Martin Offiah on his knees.

| The Davies try was a great moment and Edwards would be a good shout but for me neither as like it or not they are associated with Union now and I dont think its good to have people looking at the statue and then saying 'oh thats the rugby union player/coach/pundit' or for the media to say 'new statue of ex Wigan legend Shaun Edwards and now Wasps and Wales Rugby Union coach'

I'm not actually sure if you're on a wind-up.
The key word here is Wembley. Before you think "iconic RL players and/or moments", narrow your selection to "at Wembley".
Remember now, "Wembley".

| Didn't Mal win the Lance Todd at Wembley, granted the GB world cup wasn't at Wembley but why does there have to be some iconic picture to associate the statue?
Offiah is a gobsh*te, Edwards is now a union name.

| Neil Fox is the obvious choice for all rugby league fans who have the ability to see beyond their own club colours.
He is the world record point scorer in the game
He is the brother of Don Fox who unfortunately provided the country and our sport with it's most iconic moment
He holds the record for most points in a CC final
He is a RL Hall of Famer
His name is known across the RL playing world
He carries himself with a dignity that speaks volumes about the values of our game
He hails from Sharlston which is the quintessential type of mining community which spawned our game. To choose Neil Fox would be to tip our hat in the direction of those thousands of players from our proud history that shared Neils heritage and who's roots many of us still share today.
in my humble opinion he is the stand out candidate amongst many deserving legends of our game.
Edwards, Offiah, Hanley, Murphy, Sullivan, Van Vollenhoven etc can have their statues in the future because who says that we're allowed only one, but Neil Fox MUST be the first.
