Anyone who doesn't want to see the Mighty Widnes Vikings play their first Super League game for years on the only 21st century playing surface in professional rugby league is a fool. Pitted finely against the backs to the wall, underdog spirited Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, both with brand new squads we will put on a show the likes of which yee have never seen.

We have a fine tradition of village idiots in this country stretching back centuries but seriously they were merely teetering on the edge of sanity with a nice twist of humour whereas some strange people on this thread have clearly plunged over the edge and are heading into the vast cavern of insanity.

I wish I could help these poor souls but there's no going back.

You must admit that, due to the past performance of the clubs and their respective players, it's more likely that Warrington will produce high quality rugby than Salford.

So? Warrington finished top of the league and Salford finished 11th.. That we suggest that they're much more likely to play high quality Rugby than 1 off result.

One of the poorest, in terms of quality, games last season was the Wakey v Cas CC game but it was perhaps one of the most tense and watchable games of the year.

Nice picks IMO. Gives some exposure to teams who aren't usually on which should also mean big crowds at the other games because the fans have to go. I understand the logic behind it because they should also be interesting games.
