I don't agree here as we do not know exactly where or why TWP may fit in in the future. Not that long ago Lenegan talked about a reducing TV deal, he looked forward to a "national" league, and even took a 2 leagues x10 English clubs format to a vote.
But times always chance and we now read (RL & LE Letters page and Editorial) that American media giant Comcast who own SKY Sports could be interested in screening a transatlantic league that could pay way more than the current SKY deal (double has been suggested). The alternative to that if that is what they want, is what exactly? Can we stick to the current clubs and current level of SKY money if Comcast/SKY are no longer interested?
The decision on TWP looked like it was going to be pretty much most clubs voting to eject them. Now we see big SL clubs thinking again and pondering on their future worth. That worth being a big Comcast deal. Now we see little SL clubs vehemently against it. Mr. Hudgell has already walked mid season, people were worryingly asking where Mr. Carter was, Mr. Davey is adamant he wants to see his days out in an English League, Salford have little say.
Perez ploughs on with Ottawa with his usual self confidence, New York aren't going away, Rimmer is all for TWP coming back, and Livolsi is acting like he holds all the cards. People can still get copies of league Express as it only came out Monday so don't call me just put your hand in your pocket and read it.
It
[umay[/u well be Livolsi simply holds all the cards here............
Anyone got a better explanation let's hear it?
