I wanted to take a few friends with me who have never watched rugby league live but are into different sports. I asked what the cheapest option for them would be as they are not season tciket holders, students, oap's etc so do not qualify for a discount. Here is their reply:
[iThank you for your email. If your friends are full paying Adults (as opposed to Juniors aged 16 and under, Seniors aged 65 and over or Students) then £30 for a day ticket is the cheapest option.
I understand that this may seem like a lot but when you consider that there are 3 or 4 games to watch as well as entertainment inside and outside the stadium it does offer a good value day out.[/i
Now you try convincing somebody that £30 to watch several RL games is a bargain, they have never been to a game, dont know what to expect and are being asked for what i would consider a significant amount of money.
Who is this event aimed at? Existing fans or attracting new support?

Good post. I've been to every one and it's a great weekend. The whingers tend to be those who can't be bothered to go. I also get the impression that some of those who say we've given the game to Stobarts on a plate also want to be first in the queue for the cheap tickets. |

Ticket sales seem good so far, and the decision to move the event to Manchester seems justified.
Only criticism I can offer so far is the timing of the saturday games, there are long gaps between the 3 games, which may mean that many fans go home and the staidum still looks empty. We were origianlly planning to get to the ground for the 2nd half of Wire-Widnes for example, but given the long gap, we will just be arriving in time for the Hull derby.

Yes you can. Retain your ticket and you get your hand stamped.
The fanzone and entertainment will be outside round the ground, so there should be plenty to do, as well as the locals, although some of them are pretty grim tbh! |
