| Bought tickets for the last few world cups on the day they went on sale, was planning on doing the same for this one, but then I found out they won't sell tickets for specific seats until next year (when prices go up). Not keen on buying a ticket that will be allocated a seat later, as you don't even know what part of the ground you will end up in.
Even though it was a so-called priority window, they only had limited seats in each category, so even if I was willing to buy, the price I wanted to pay was also unavailable for the size of group I would be going to the game in.
A real shame they are making it difficult to buy the tickets I want

Similarly, I was disappointed not to be able to choose my seat. I go to the GF every year and have my favourite block, so was hoping to sit there for the WC final too.
I did buy tickets as it promised to allocate ‘best seats available’ on a first-come, first-served basis. As I bought first two tickets for the final, they better stick to that promise!

| Has anybody bought tickets yet? Apparently, I missed the priority slot - largely because when I looked when it first opened I was struggling to see the wood for the trees / get the site to work; and then I went on holiday and forgot.
Why are they leaving it until 23 October to re-open sales? Surely, after the BBCs plugging today and a great game in front of a national audience it should have been open to buy today? I for one would have bought tickets. I’ll forget when 23 October comes around as I’ll be too busy.
Do people think it’ll actually go ahead with spectator? I am doubtful - I think Covid will be with us next Autumn.

| Technically you can't buy tickets this year, you can enter the ballot to be allocated tickets once it opens, but your seats will be allocated later. That may be fine for most, but prevented me from giving them my money.
Also of relevance, prices go up in 2021.

The prices already seem pretty steep in A, B and C at a lot of venues. Given most are in the North and so likely to appeal to the existing fan base, I’m not convinced they’ll sell too well as people won’t want to be paying those prices to attend several matches, especially for non-England games. Going to need to attract new punters but I’m not convinced people will travel from the South except for the final.

They start at £15, from what I've seen.

So we'll sell a load of the £15 tickets (behind the goal i assume) none of the £70 tickets (on the side) and have the camera aimed at an empty stand.

I used to always get the most expensive tickets until that World Cup Final at OT years ago. We were given the worst seats in the house and then they let people in on the day for £10 to try to boost the crowd and they had great seats. After that I’ve always bought cheaper tickets on principle.

You can spend your money however you like EC, I was just pointing out that you can attend this fixture (should you be able to do so) without spending £70 on a ticket.

I'm aware of that yes, and I'm not arguing or looking to argue, my point (or more my opinion) is that for this game, £70 should include hospitality. This is the sort of game that we should play at a stadium like Leigh that holds 10k, not one that holds 40k and has tickets at £70.

Neither am I looking to argue, and take your point that £70 for the [ibest seats[/i does seem steep, but we can all choose how much were willing to spend. Take your point about hospitality that could have been a way of selling more top end tickets. However, making a profit over the entire tournament would make this undesirable from the RFL's point of view.

| At what stage do we look at postponing the WC by a year. I am starting to fear that there may still be restrictions in place this time next year. The earlier any call id made to postpone the better albeit I suspect it will be left until around Feb / March before making that call.

| Actually noticed an advert to promote ticket sales for the 2021 World Cup on a Sky channel, yesterday. Who knows if and when there's a set date that the RFL (or whoever) will make a decision by.

| I've bought tickets for quite a few games, including Wheelchair at Copper Box as that is not a huge venue and didn't want to miss out. The price structure overall is quite reasonable. Union world cup top-tier tickets topped £200 in some venues, and we all know what soccer wants when it comes to prices. Clearly many folk won't want to pay £70 plus but that's why there is a range. Plus the 'bundles' also make it cheaper. Lastly, big congratulaitons on putting the tickets on sale so far out. This is by a long way the best organised RLWC to date.
