There is nothing he hasn't won at Wigan and he has been there a hell of a long time, If Catalan come knocking at your door with a big 5 year deal I don`t think there would be many in his situation that would turn it down. Wigan are not stupid and will have known about this for a while, they will have a replacement lined up and with Edwards publicly stating he wants to come coach in League it could very well be him.

He will have just as much financial backing at Catalan (If not more) than he had at Wigan from IL, Catalan have majorly under performed with the star studded side they have, lets be honest he really cannot do any worse than McNamara has done with them.

Surprised at this as there will be some major language barriers for him to overcome. I believe pretty much all the French players are fluent English speakers so it may take Shaun Wane some time to get up to speed. By year 3 or 4 of his contract he may be in a position to have a go at learning French.

Good move for Wane IMO, those who want to challenge themselves do not sit on their laurels and want something fresh, maybe there's been a falling out, maybe they want him to go, who knows. love him or hate him (personally I dislike the team ethos he brings at times as it goes over the line too often) he has been successful.

I know fans of other clubs hate to give him any credit for being anything other than an ape, but even if the rugby was awful to watch, the achievement to win the competition in 2016 speaks volumes of Wane given how many injuries we had that year. To continually bring through young kids and just stay in the top 8 would have been an achievement in itself, never mind going the whole way and winning the thing.
