Thats exactly my thoughts, Holbrook is a fantastic coach even if he doesnt give credit to oppo's sometimes after a loss.
He is much more important than a player who is only here because he got off on a technicality rather than face the music. The NRL beckons next year for Barba.

And he will be waved off with the best wishes of Saints fans around the world. Super league trophy under one arm, Challenge cup under the other and the Harry Sunderland medal wrapped around his neck as he rides off into the sunset

| He’s only here because he got banned in NRL after failing a drugs test.
After this season has finished he'll be straight on the plane back home.

| Barba is exposing the poor quality of Super League players.
Back in Australia he is a good player but in Super League he is like Superman
It a sad reflection on our game that with a few exceptions the majority of Super League players are nowhere near his standard

Why is it? The same argument could be said about the number of average aussies who do 10 years in NRL, come to SL and struggle to do anything. FPN at wigan, Galloway at leeds examples.
Barba was a superstar in the NRL too, pretending otherwise for the sake of detriment to SL is just silly

It's just surprising that it was Saints who objected to raising the salary cap,and the marquee player signing, when Dr Koukash
suggested it.Shame the British rugby league fan has to settle for less than the best.

| Saints looked good against a poor team last night. Come the business end of the season when Mac gets Leeds ready and Wigan get tough, hull get pumped the Saints forwards will get beaten just like we saw last year with Cas. The super star at the back will go home with the hub cap and some bad memories.

Pretty much agree with that, as the title thread he is a breath of fresh air to the game if people take there club blinkers off.

Jamie Lyon, yes. Matt King, Michael Monaghan, Brett Hodgson, Alfie Langer, Joey Johns... (I’m sure many other SL fans can name a few from their teams’ past n’all)
Ben Barba has come over under the same cloud as Chris Sandow, Joel Monaghan, Todd Carney... it’s not particularly refreshing to see a player of our sport banned for failing a drugs test, crashing cars drunk, touching up dogs or urinating in their own mouths in public, no! No matter how much excitement they bring with them.
Just goes to show how bad our clubs are at producing good, exciting players and coaches are at playing exciting rugby when we have to bring over these morons to light up the league.

I'm just pointing out the obvious if you don't want to face up to that that's your choice

Saints have never voted against a cap increase - McManus is primarily in favour of a minimum Salary cap. We voted against the marquee rule because of the way it was proposed to be implemented, and preferred the RFL proposed rule to limit all home grown players to 100k - hence the compromise found to have two different values for the homegrown marquee vs others.
