| Can't understand why Cas made that interchange with Chase on, Roberts to FB, Hardaker to wing, Miniken to centre. Should've either made a straight swap or leave Chase unused.

Escare has been great going forward, and as bad in defence.
Wigan have been let down by some really poor individual performances.

It's something we've done for 3 games in a row now. Doesn't seem to have done us any harm - just think Powell likes to throw Chase at a tired defence.

| We look like a tired team at the minute.
Not too bothered though. Cas were only 2 scores better than us - one try awful tackling, one intercept. Their tactics of drilling the kick into touch every set was baffling.

I can understand Chase at a tired defence part but I wouldn't moved several players around to accommodate him the way this particular match was going. You were comfortable beforehand and I think it left you a little disjointed. You've got the best defensive FB in the league and you chuck him on a wing Wigan weren't attacking??? Didn't cost you in the end but could've done had Joel Tomkins not continued to show he's a shadow of his pre RU self and gift Eden a try instead of setting up a tense last 2/3 minutes.

Baffling but worked. 2 scores better I will take all day rather than being 2 scores worse off.

"Game management" except it was actually giving a beaten team more time to get their breath back. Turn them round or force the repeat sets surely?

| I expected a far heavier defeat tonight so am relatively content. Listening to others talk about a significant win and toughest game so far against a team missing 60% of its starting 13 gives me confidence for the season ahead (he says hoping some of those players might return sometime soon).

| Hicks tried his best for Wigan, he might as well have been wearing a Wigan shirt!
What Wane should be disappointed in with that Eden intercept is only 2 players bothered to even try and chase him down. That was just lazy.

Can only play what's in front of you. Cas beat you with half their team missing in the 8's last year - all swings and roundabout isn't it.

Really? Thought he actually kept himself low key tonight. Plenty of games where the ref looks like he's favouring a team. This wasn't one of them.

| Good win for us. As much as Wigan's first-choice backs were absent, their forwards were out fought and out muscled (bar Tautai).
Whist Williams is clearly talented, Leuluai was extremely poor. He was simply a passenger. At least Smith gave them some organisation and a decent kicking game.
Although Tautai was good, the likes of Hardaker, Gale, Robets, McShane and Moors were head and shoulders above their Wigan counterparts.
However, prizes are not given out in April. Wigan will be challenging towards the end of the year and beating them in big games is a different proposition.
