The reason I wouldn't have Murphy is, despite his obvious achievements, he's now perceived as a bit of a dinosaur. The old flat-cap days. You know, the 'well in my day, we wouldn't have put up with this and that etc etc'.

Offiah isn't. And whilst there's nothing wrong with celebrating history, Offiah is part of the generation of players who helped drag RL out of it's past, and into a professional, credible sport that can compete in the 21st century, for all the problems off the field.

What do I know. I still reckon it should have been Clarv Sullivan.

Alec Murphy is widely recognised in this country and Australia as probably the finest/cleverest player ever to play the game , between him and Offiah it is no contest
