Quote: Saddened! "1 - Eastmond - Briscoe is Mr Invisible, totally anonymous
2 - Briscoe
3 - Shenton
4 - Smith
5 - Hall
6 - McGuire - Did nothing tonight but too early for 2 junior half backs
7 - Myler
8 - Graham
9 - Roby - Easily capable of 80 minutes, no need for interchange hooker when the play the balls are so slow
10 - Peacock
11 - Ellis
12 - Burgess
13 - Sinfield

14 - Morley
15 - Carvell
16 - Crabtree (If fit)
17 - Westwood'"

I'd be happy with that (well, not happy, but it's about as good a squad as we can pick with the dearth of talent in this country at every position apart from prop), if Westwood was out. Not sure who could come in, but I'd probably rather have a blank space on the team sheet than Westwood. Tomkins is close, but as said, two inexperienced halves would be suicide and Myler probably deserves to keep his spot, although I don't think he's good enough to be playing at this level.

I'd have Westwood over Crabtree anyday.

He's a better player, but I'm hoping Big Eorl's hair provokes a bit of laughter in the Aussie line, possibly creating gaps for one of our halves to not quite run into.

Roby played well but he needs to stop kicking from DH. Leave it to Sinfield/McGuire (if the latter plays)

The lad can kick when he is at his best but he is too inconsistent,

When he first broke through he couldn't kick at all so at least he is trying to improve his game.

bridge for briscoe!? icon_eek.gif don't recall tom briscoe doing anything wrong to warrant being dropped

scored a try, prevented a try or a good chance of one with a one on one ball steal,(not a knock on like the two goons claimed)

I think the majority of the team underperformed, but I think it is pretty much there best side.

Eastmond in for Briscoe, because we need that attacking threat.
Roby in for Moore, with strict instruction not to kick.

Benchwise graham, carvell, gilmour? and tomkins

I hear that Paul Cullen bloke is a good 'un.

I think throwing Eastmond in at FB against the worlds greatest backline is quite possibly suicide. I'd like to see Tomkins & Myler. This is, if you believe either player's hype, the 6 & 7 for England for the next 10 years. Give them a go and see how it pans out. Wilkin in for Westwood. Sinfield to drop out.

Briscoe

Hall
Tomkins
Myler
Graham
Moore
Peacock
Wilkin
Ellis
Burgess

Morley
Carvell
Crabtree
Roby/Eastmond [I think Eastmond could make a good Impact hooker, but again, it's throwing a young player in an untried position against the best]

Gone for sheer power and size on the bench too.

Power & Experience up front

Youth & Enthusiasm in the back.

Australia are going to have to have a very bad day to lose to us.

Smith at full back - good player who has at least played full back before and should offer a great deal more than anonymous shaun briscoe.
Ellis at centre for this match to cope with Inglis. He can go back to SR for kiwi game.
Eastmond to alternate with Roby.
Tomkins to come on at the 50 min mark.
2 big forwards on the bench.
