Quote: majorhound "I've seen the game now. For the first twenty Fev were like the rabbit in the headlights, and it looked as if Hull would blow them away. But once Fev started playing, and Hull looked insecure, that's when the nasty stuff started. Holding down at the tackle, flops, holding the tackler down (Briscoe got sinbinned for that) A blatant high tackle on Briscoe on about 27 minutes, unpunished, and several knock-ons at the PTB which they got away with. The Hardcastle disallowed try was another example of the officials favouring Hull. The point of the ball clearly touched the ground, under control, before the Hull player intervened. Hull got away with so much for so long that they thought they could do what they liked, hence the carnage at the end. I'll admit that Taulapapa should probably have been yellow-carded, but it wasn't high despite what the Sky commentator said, it was early. The reaction of the Hull player after he obstructed Briscoe said it all about Hull. He should have got a red card for that smirk alone. I don't watch much Sky but their commentary team really are very biased against Championship clubs.'"

So you expect a red card for smirking, but a yellow card for creaming someone who never had the ball...

Just look at that for a second, think about the balance and whether you're really being objective, then look back through the rest of your rubbish you've just posted. Maybe even watch the game with both eyes open. But everything you've said is pretty much the most biased view of a game I've ever seen!

I'd suggest you re-watch the game with your eyes open and your black and white specs firmly locked in a drawer; and preferably with the sound turned down. Hull were not innocent of niggling by any stretch of the imagination.

Where did I say they weren't?
Like the game, you're seeing things that aren't there.

Featherstone have been renowned for rough house tactics for many years. They see a reckless collision by Taulapapa go unpunished and they up the niggle to spoiling levels. '"

Have we? Is that before or after the period of time where we ran rings round the Championship for a few years? Grand finals excepted as we know they're not Powell's strong suit.

Quote: Sir Kevin Sinfield "This was a bad tackle and should have been a red card for me, a yellow card at an absolute minimum. It was only when the ref let this go that the game got out of hand. Both the ref and players are at fault for that. '"

I have seen this comment a few times and don't agree with it at all. I think in the 10-15 minutes that followed the Taulapapa incident, there was only one penalty (Briscoe's professional foul which earned a yellow card) and no obvious "niggle". The real trouble started in the aftermath of Faraimo's breakaway try, when there was an incident back in Hull's half of the field just after he had touched down. It's not clear from TV pictures what caused that, but the real niggle started after that.

The real niggle started when it became clear to Hull that Fev weren't just going to roll over and die. IMO Misi's tackle was bad, but it wasn't high, it perhaps deserved a yellow. But then so did the high tackle on Briscoe earlier, which went completely unpunished.
Anyway I don't think Misi was early, it was just that the ball was late (joke)

Cannon ball tackles and Chicken wings are not high, but they both put players in danger of serious injury.

Shaul is looking up, will not be braced for the impact he received as he would never catch the ball if he were tensed up for the the collision. It was reckless play.

You'd rolled over and died within 15 minutes. The niggle started when you knew you had no chance

Rubbish and if you're honest with yourself you'll admit it. Fev got caught cold. But once they started putting up a bit of resistance Hull started the mucky stuff.
BTW who thinks Shaul pretending to have scored, then running in under the posts is an invite for players to commit fouls and then claim they weren't sure the player had grounded the ball. Hull were up to all the 'old man. tricks.

Are you David Blunkett?

So, are you really blaming a player for improving a kicking angle as to why Featherstone are a shockingly disciplined outfit?

You are right, how dare Shaul try and improve the angle for kicker.

If Fev hadn't resorted to their tactics (And Hull being stupid and reacting) and Hull got injuries we would have beat Fev by 50 at least.

Altough it has backfired as they have lost two key players for some big games

NO. He pretended to ground the ball and then ran under the posts. Next time when he does ground it someone will clatter him and the hypocritical codeds will be calling for an eight point try and a yellow.
