I wouldn't call what he did a mistake. If he does sign it will be interesting to see the reaction from Wigan fans after what was said when Joel Monaghan signed for us last year after one 'mistake.'

jokes aside i really dont see your point no. sam tomkins has had a pay rise with that extra cash available just because hes had a pay rise are we expected not to sign anybody else end of the day look at the sqaud there must have been cash available... And its a FACT that wigan wasn't the only club wanting the salary cap to allow extra funds for home grown players... if sam tomkins didnt get a pay rise but instead wigan just said lets use hes old salary on the new rules and whats left of hes salary just spend on new players but they haven't done that!! so your actually moaning that wigan have just signed 3 young players who look to have great futures. aswell as pritty much delevoping wales rugby league for the future if wales can be strong at international level that is a whole new market to buy into rugby league.
Wigan under ian lenegan are the most transparent team to the RFL when it comes to salary cap as we still are the only team to send any contract proposals and transfere fees to them.
your delusional if you dont think saints are going to use that extra cash to improve contracts which in the long run will free up some money. And i dont have a problem with that if it keeps lomax from leaving.

Call it what you want, my comment was in reponse to someone saying he made 'one mistake'. I was pointing out that it was more than one mistake, incident, again call it what you want. Im not defending him as I am a Roosters fan and was living in Sydney at the time these young lads (and some senior players) were making 'mistakes' on a weekly basis. Which embarrassed the club and fans on numerous occassions.

We spent all of said allowance on keeping Sam Tomkins in rugby league, of which I'm sure you're grateful. You can draw it up however you like. Wigan aren't breaking any rules, no matter how much you'd like to think they are. Like bondi_warrior says, maybe Saints should have gone cap in hand to the RFL last off-season in an effort to keep Kyle Eastmond in rugby league? Instead of spending his cap space on Lance Hohaia?

I wouldn't bother comparing either to be honest. Neither are things to be proud of and both are unacceptable

I wouldn't be telling my family anything if I'd done either. I'm not saying there's a comparison either. Just I seem to remember that some Wigan fans were virtually demanding Joel be burnt at the stake. By the way, I didn't know dogs liked peanut butter.

common knowledge if you like films like american pie (but i guess dont trust films?). i dont think he should be burnt at the stake but i think it was vile thing to do but pooing in a night club it just a act of immerturity and all round n0b head. but if you have ever been in a club with players in there you will see the majority of them are n0b's

Fair enough, obviously if this isn't true then there's nothing to see here. If it is true then I think the sentiment still rings true - last week Leneghan was talking wanting to give young British players a chance in relation to off-season signings (specifically in relation to the centre position), and so clearly if he signed a centre from down-under a week later this would seem strange.
Anyway, we'll wait and see.

You'll be glad to hear those young British centres are either in the squad for next season already or were signed today in the case of a certain Rhodri Lloyd, an 18 year old from South Wales Scorpions.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| How does this young lad meet the UKBA criteria for a visa when Championship clubs seem to fail when trying to sign players of this experience?

I raised that point a few pages back and none of the Wigan fans could offer an explanation. It's very strange. You see current NRL players turned down because they've not played enough games, yet this is a player who hasn't played any that I know of.
It will be interesting to hear why, potentially something to do with his age or nationality? I think he's from the Cook Islands.
