This whole thread is a good example of why RL gets poor/bad press reports. What appears to have have been a small skirmish involving a few morons who can't hold their beer has evolved into a major blame game on here, a few "fans" have uploaded a video the press have picked up on a non story and 7 pages (on this forum alone) the press have their story from a great day. Yet we all blame the a RFL!

Already happened. The Daily Telegraph has it as their top RL story. You give these rags any opportunity to paint RL in a negative light and they'll take it.

So well done to those involved and very well done to the moron Andy Fenton who posted the video on Facebook, who now thinks he's famous because his video's on a news website.

Maybe it’s a sad reflection on football, but it’s a regular occurrence when watching United home and away. I’ve seen the video of the trouble in Sam Platts and whilst it might seem to major to some people, to others it will be nothing more than a minute or two of scuffling.

I would hazard a guess that nobody was hurt, apart from the bouncer who was hit with a stray bottle. These lads would have been pushing each other more than they were punching. Still no excuse for it, particularly when there are children around but the fact that this is the only incident of violence I can remember this season reinforces that RL is still a family sport. Fights will always happen everywhere, even more so at major finals.

Its sad when I have to say I'm glad I didn't take my kids on Saturday...

Unfortunately we had kids with us. I was holding one above my head while 4 blokes were punching and kicking another man lying on the floor about 2 yards in front of me.

But it was only a skirmish and I'm "a bit precious" according to one poster earlier.

Not good at all is it.

That doesn't mean to say Leeds fans didnt have their share of idiots there on Saturday as OT was full of them, but this instance, Leeds obviously reacted to it, but wasn't looking for it.

Was it those Wigan ultras again? The Brigantes and their aggressive, football-holigan styled flags and logos? They were all about 12 and spotty geeks the last time I saw them, but maybe they grew since then?

Slightly off topic but I shared a house at University with a lad who grew up in Wembley and asked to name who were the worst fans to visit his hometown he picked the RL fans coming down for the challenge cup final over and above any football fans (we're going back early/mid 90s now). It's always around at the big days, too much big boys pop and bravado.

Had some complete cretins from Leeds sat behind me on Saturday, one of the women kept screaming and shouting 'kill the c*nts'. What a delight she was. Had my 8 year old son with me and it obviously got to him a bit. Generally I go with a 'what you hear at rugby stays there' but this was constant on and on and on. I was a bit gutted it upset him and he wanted to leave at the final whistle rather than stay for the trophy presentation. Just bad luck to be sat in front of an utter tramp.

The fighting in the bottom of the North Stand seem to go on all game, looked pretty bad. Most of the Leeds fans were well behaved around us. Apart from the trouble what a great advert for the sport Saturday was thoroughly enjoyed it.

Could you not have asked her to watch the language very loudly, so all around her could hear?
I find that once you embarrass people like that they generally go very quiet.

Well i must have been lucky , had a fantastic time in Manchester and around and in the stadium , a few beers , good banter with Wigan , Wakey , Cas fans as well as others , had a few beers and saw no trouble whatsoever .

I'd asked nicely and not so nicely. Intervention of another Leeds fan shut her up then she started again at the end. Not really one for moaning to the stewards and I've come across worse. Other than the idiots behind had a great day out.
