Stupid idea, and quite irritating when it pops up during the game. It makes Phil Clarke even more of a joke.

I think you have to give it time to see what it can do. I can see what he's trying to do and over the course of a season it might work. I've no idea if it will but they're trying to innovate so let's see what happens. I'd hate for some of you to have been around when we invented fire...

For me, even if the margin meter became a perfect science over the course of a season, it's ultimate purpose seems to be to spoil the game as a spectacle; given that the TV audience is contingent on the game being exciting, competitive and unpredictable, then that doesn't seem very sensible.

They could do some interesting things with stat's and modelling - this however, is what my son would call an 'epic fail.'
