Kear has stated that he is happy to run with a squad of approximately 21/22 with the addition of 7 players from the academy winning side. Therefore you'd imagine that the likes of Murphy & Morton will get games in the backs again and possibly a couple of games for either Southernwood or Davy if/when some of our pivots get injured.
Initially the lads will struggle to make the 17 man squad, but a few older players (Demetriou, Morrison, Henderson, Newton) are coming to the end of their careers. By that time i'd hope some of those academy players will have developed and progressed sufficiently to take over the mantle and become regulars in the 17.
I for one cannot wait to see this batch develop.

John Kear and Ted Richardson also stated that there will be a number of additional signings announced in November.

No not just 15 games in Super League,but a possible 15 games out of 16 this season at Wakefield -- that would suggest in the eyes of the coach he was considered a first team regular. |

Whether they still have a great deal to go/prove is irelevant.
Dale Ferguson still has to do the above -- but you consider him a regular.
My expectations are also irelevant,but 15 out of 16 games shows he was a regular. |

The sad thing about this thread is that ... in the past 3 or 4 seasons both Castleford and Wakefield Trinity have made MASSIVE strides in the development of junior grade rugby league... adding two more centres of excellence (... and... I understand that word may be contetious in the eyes of our aussie cousins) and creating an additionall competiticve environment for the best young players in the UK to develop into good first grade players.
the focus should be on the future ... not the past!
