He got passed on in the waive. He'll stay at the 49rs, especially now they've got injuries. Yet to see a single dollar flowing to RL though. Please let me know when you see some of the mythical money coming to our sport.

How long has it been since the NRL / RFL staged a meaningful exhibition match in the US ?
RFL - 1989- in Milwaukee
NRL ?
I don't mean a ' run out ' in Jacksonville during pre season training , but a full blown challenge match .
American Football seems to be on at Wembley every other week , and the other code have announced a premiership Rugby game in New York in the lead up to St Patrick's day .
they may be appreciation of the skills of RL players . and their ability to play other 'sports' RU - NFL - WWE- Boxing , but it will mean nothing unless there is more opportunity to growth the sport overseas. or tv deals to make the sport visible.

Reasonably sure the Aussies played there on the way home from one of their UK tours in the noughties. |

Recently he's been mentioned in two US articles I've read that are about promoting a professional Union competition in the US (called the NRFL and backed by the NFL).
Neither article mentioned Rugby League, one referring to him as being from "Australia's main league' and the other also failing to mention he plays a different code.

I was reading about the waiver yesterday and ABC News mentioned him as a Rugby League star so not all are glossing over it.

Correct. Played in Philadelphia. Australia vs USA. Latter led by Huddersfield superstar Brandon Costin at half back. Big Willie Mason broke his ankle on the astro turf. |

Hayne going to the NFL is good for Union as they've signed up for 3 NFL matches at Twickenham and from what someone posted on here the other day maybe assisting Union with a US league? Once again the commercial nous of Union's leadership shows.

Albeit since the NFL season runs at the same time as the RU season then I fail to see the benefit (aside from RFU income).
