| Quote meast="meast"not really no, but no one can explain why it's only us that get called for poor crowds can they?'"
It's rugby league's version of the weather - a safe topic everyone agrees about.

| i won't mention then that we have grown our crowds more than any other rugby league club in the last decade but hey if it makes everyone feel better then i suppose we should be grateful.

| You grew them to the point where last year, the year after finishing top and a sustained period of success, they were averaging almost as high as the team the got relegated after a sustained period of being in absolute freefall.
Well done.

You missed the bit where the team that got relegated were one of the most successful team in the top division, winning pots every year and getting average crowds of 13-15 thousand

point still stands though, regardless of how many glory hunting tosspots buggered off when the crap hit the fan at odsal, our crowds have improved more than any other rugby league team since 2000

I dont actually have any figures to hand but our average attendances in 2000 were roughly 1500, theyve increased by not far off 7000. Have Hudds gone up by more than that?

Love it. Bradford go from champions to relegation, crowds decrease you call their fans glory seeking tosspots. Huddersfield go from championship team to winning the league, and an increase in crowds is down to hard work from club and nothing to so with glory seeking.
As you're praising your club for increasing it's crowds (which you should do) I'd be interested to know your opinion of those fans who are watching your team now you're a top super league team, who weren't watching when you were a championship team...

| Hull Kr is a good shout it's probably a close call between us.
Bull Mania, how can Huddersfield have attracted glory supporters when we haven't won a major trophy for 60 years? the crowds had actually gone up significantly before our LLS year.

| Quote Both Leigh & Bradford travel in considerable numbers & will take 3 > 4,000 to most away venues.
Bradford will double Wakefields home average on their visit, Leigh will double Salfords home average & increase on Widnes home average.
Halifax will blow their home averages to bits in all their home fixtures & have a smaller increase in travelling numbers.
This only leaves Sheffield who really do not have many fans at all, they will see a smaller marginal increase to home gates but hardly contribute at all on away days.
I think it is fair to say that we might see some 10k + crowds at both Leigh & Bradford who together make every other club *with the exception of KR* look insignificant in terms of fan base.'"
i said at the time it was a big boast to make, it appears i was right.
i'm sure however 3-4,000 leigh fans will make up for it.

Hmmm, yes.
It appears I was a little over zealous in my estimations with that post.
If I do have a defence though, Bradford were the only Club to travel to Leigh in significantly large numbers, about 3,000, whereas Leigh took over 4,000 to Wire for the CC QF.
Hull KR, who I expected to travel in big numbers were in fact much less in number than I imagined, not knocking KR, they had other factors most likely affecting their decisions to travel or not, not least the cost of attending the CC Final.
Salfords away attendance at Leigh was very poor & I fully expect us Leigh fans to be much larger in number at the ECCLES Council House tomorrow.
