It's been Christmas and New Year - people are entitled to breaks. How many weeks in advance do you see films advertised on TV? Or television programmes?
And in terms of tickets, you want them to market big events.
Marketing will be picked up from Monday, as will all clubs starting to ramp up their marketing for the friendlies and Super League games.
What would you have liked to have seen over the Christmas break?

| I can understand not announcing anything over Christmas while people have other things on their minds, but now you want to get it out there as you ramp up all the marketing and launch of the new season.
If we'd have gone with Skybet it'd have been all over sky for weeks!

| Just been on the RFL website, went to the search box and typed in Superleague 2014., it didn,t find anything. It couldhave been a lot worse and could have said, doesn,t exist or under construction.
Snooze or you lose mentality surely from the RFL.

| Look. The RFL has the new SL sponsor lined up. The agreement is there in principle. The sponsor just needs to know exactly what it is getting before it's precise cash input is finalised and the arrangement then announced.
Before that can happen, the clubs need to agree the new league structure that will apply from 2015 as this will be within the 3 year deal for the new sponsor. Before the new 2x12; 3x8 structure is confirmed, the clubs need to agree the associated distribution of Sky money. This won't be done until mid-January, after which the new sponsor will be announced.
The delay is not the RFL's fault. It is the fault of the member clubs, more particularly, a minority of SL clubs' chairmen.

If they didn't run the sport like a bunch of imbeciles and didn't try and perform a coop at one of there own SL meetings the decision would already be made.

You can't really blame it on the 'coup', the 'coup' only happened because there was no agreement, the idiocy is trying to force something through now at this late stage. If you are needing to play a bit of chicken with your own member clubs to force it through, it's not likely to be a success or have their backing.
Stop, pause, take the next 6 months to get full agreement, backing and in all areas not just the structure, announce it in plenty of time with everyone's backing and mov forward.

When it is announced and is for less money than Engage, but more than the collective of rag-tag minor sponsors that we were told were better than one main sponsor, who will be to blame then?
The Minority of SL chairmen you speak of are perfectly within their rights to ensure that the TV money that THEIR clubs generate is used wisely throughout the game and that THE IMAGE AND COMMERCIAL RIGHTS are monatised to their fullest extent.
The RFL seem to have embraced the "stack it high and sell it cheap" mentality to concerns under their stewardship.

If ever evidence were needed that those of a Soviet style central planning mentality don't live in the real world, this is it.
FFS all the clubs in the game need to know what they are playing for BEFORE THE SEASON KICKS OFF. Announcing it in mid-January is plenty late enough.

100% spot on.
The timing of the announcement last year didn't seem to worry anyone

Can I ask if you are Australian or a politician because the last time I looked (exuse the unintended pun) a sentence doesn't start with the word 'LOOK' unless you are actually hinting at visually observing something..
Aaaaw look, I don't mean to beat down on you but ising the language in this way is terrible (though seemingly becoming more commonplace.grrr) c'mon man..pull your socks up..
