Cant see many crossing the m62 on a friday night in these conditions, hopefully plenty of wigan, wire and saints fans will attend to get the attendance above a thousand.

| Quote: pyeman "The roads are safe in cas, and even where i am in cas at the top of a hill where its coldest the snow and ice is melting with a much warmer 3 days ahead there would have been no snow or ice left in cas by friday. There wasnt a risk, so as one of the many fans who now cant go its particularly annoying, but as i said its more of a shame for the players as now they wont get the chance to play in front of a good crowd.'"
The weather forecasters have been known to be wrong on occasion, you know. They quite simply couldn't wait until Thursday just in case it didn't warm up and they were left stranded - they've now moved it to a venue where the weather won't be an issue and there won't be any concerns about the game taking place.

| Pyeman, 1500 safe car park spots and most of the squad playing at Wigan and Wire makes LSV a no brainer in todays weather, and thats before you add in the 700 corporate dining facility, 3g training facilities, hotel and swimming pool on site for the teams.
It would be stupid of the RFL to not schedule at least one of the winter tour games at the LSV in future ( it can then be promoted properly), it would also be stupid of them not to base the touring teams at the LSV due to on site facilities and proximity to other RL communities ie 1 hour driving time covers virtually all except Humberside and Cumbria
Mr Lewis refused to accept the completed LSV as part of Leighs last SL franchise bid btw
Who would have thought little old Leigh hosting the 3 big international games played in 2010 at home.

I've rarely waited more than 20 minutes, and I'm usually one of the last out of the ground.

| Thats probably why. But no, 20 minutes and I should be sat in my house having a brew from Leigh.
I really am tempted by this game but with taking off to Aus early next week it would be a night wasted. Really am tempted though

What conditions? I thought it was going to be fine in Yorkshire by Friday?

As opposed to the ring and ride service

If you're one of the first out of the ground then you'll fly off, I reckon. Straight down the Lancs and Winwick Lane and you'll be in Warrington within 15 minutes.

| Just don't park on the actual stadium car park Dico, there are hundreds of places to park in the streets around the ground 2 mins walk away and you are straight on the main road from the stadium.

Bit of a pain for getting back to the Lancs though unless parking near Twist Lane etc, and even then the traffic will be gone from the stadium car parks by the time you've got back to your car.

| You can park in Pennington, go out of the ground past the Harriers and under the old railway bridge, can park just off Newton Road there.

I'm with Matt on this, on site car parks are better for visiting fans, might have a little wait to get off the car parks but they are usually sequenced by the stewards and then its straight down the by-pass and onto the Lancs.
The Etherstone street parking is only good if you're going into Leigh, and the others the walk would take longer than any waiting time.

The conditions on the m62 in its entirity and the condition in castleford are quite differant, and getting to any games across the pennines on friday night for 7.30 is a nightmare at the best of times if you work, if the roads still arent 100% which in the highest parts of the m62 they wont be theres a good chance you will miss the start of the game. Maybe if there was a train station in leigh it would possible for some people to still go but there isnt unfortunatly.
