My points from my earlier post.....
1) Widnes may have a wealthy owner.
But that doesn't matter because we have a salary cap and all only have a certain amount we can spend. Is that bull?
2) Top players want to sign for top clubs.
Is that bull? This the case in all other sports.
3) Beyond a few National Rail Cups,Widnes have no record of success since the early 90s.
Is this bull? A check of the history books since 92-93 will tell you it isn't bull.

If that was the case then warrington did not deserve to be in super league before 2009.

As for the WCC. What has something won in 1989 against a jet lagged and demotivated Canberra team got revelance 22 years later?
Wigan have only won 1 more major trophy than Wire since SL started. So much for the self-styled 'world's biggest club'. |

The only question I have is; will the team promoted bring more than the team relegated offers. If they do the great it is strengthening SL. If they are the same or offer less than what is the point?

The point is, it gives the Clubs & supporters in the lower leagues the aspiration to get to the top.
If that’s taken away, those clubs would wither & die. |

To be pedantic:
The only club that <i>can</i> lose their licence for 2012-15 is Widnes. They're the only club with a licence for that period. They won't and shouldn't lose that.
Of the 15 clubs which don't have licences for 2012-15 but are bidding for the 13 which will be awarded this summer: the clubs that should be unsuccessful are the two with the weakest bids.

There are 14 clubs in super league this year. Which one or more of the existing 14 wont have one in 2012 to make way for Widnes and possibly a successful Halifax if they go with that? That's the question in the thread, that's what was being asked. It's not ing rocket science.
