YPOY Clarkson. This kid is something special and puts in 30+ tackles a game. Hasn't even had a full time pres season behind him. When he gets some muscle on him he will be very good.
Coach. MaGuire at this stage.......BUT.....too many imponderables to adjudge it yet. Whilst MaGuire has improved Wigan out of site what if Tony Smith or Brian Mclennan go on and lead their teams to the double. Is that not a greater achievement? Would it be right if Mclennan coached a team to his third and their fourth consecutive title and didn't win coach of the year once? Like I say, too many imponderables just yet.

I think that sums it up. I think really you want to give the MOS to a player that got their team to the top of the league (or at least the top 3/4). First choice would be a Wigan player but they have depended on having a great team rather than individuals (which is why Maguire is a shoe in for Coach of the Year). The same could be said for St.Helens so that leaves Warrington IMO.
I am not saying that Warrington are a bad team but there have been some great individual performers this year i.e. Monaghan, King, Morley.
I just hope that the MOS comes from a team in the top 4. I never thought that Adrian Vowles was a good choice because of the reasons I stated above. So if Pat Richards gets it for being the most consistent performer for the top team then that is understandable (if not my choice).

Arguably, Smith has improved Wire by more than Maguire anyway: 10th to 2nd (probably) rather than 6th to 1st. Plus a cup final.

Well said mate. Che took us to a cup final after what eight months in charge, something that we had not done in 30 years. He now has took us from tenth to second plus ANOTHER Wembley appearance. A class coach.

| After watching Sam Tompkins tear us a new 'arris yesterday, I would like to amend my YPOTY nominee to the aforementioned Master Tompkins. I do believe he is still eligible for the award.
Annoying little gyt at times, but a truly brilliant player.

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

| I'd say Coach of the Year will be either Noble or McGuire, both have had impressive seasons in different circumstances.
I tend to agree with one of the other posters, it seems strange that Pat Richards is favourite for MOS when you don't exactly think "Watch out for this guy!"
Credit to him though, when Wigan first signed him he looked like he was going to be a flop (I think they tried him in the centre at first) but he's really turned things round.
At Saints, Roby and Pryce have probably been the top performers.
