30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| There's no positive to take for us but clearly the PNG Hunters have been a great success.
In years gone by you could set your watch by The Kumuls making some crazy mistakes, but not anymore. A thoroughly professional performance and a well deserved win.
Supporting a club with a big PNG connection, I'm thoroughly chuffed for them but this GB performance is nothing short of a national disgrace.

| Elliot Whitehead and Joe Philbin have had a good tour, well played.
The rest of them have been a joke!
But worst of all have been the tactics, coaching and selection.
BENNETT OUT!

| Like the late introduction of Clark last week, Williams looked like he could create something. If there was a fifth game Williams would have been dropped

| 26 degrees and probably 80% humidity at night is no weather for English players.
It's always hard to beat those guys in those conditions.

| Jesus, look how out of shape Blake Austin was there when he took his top off.
I said the same earlier this season when Sam Tomkins had to change his shirt in a game. He looked well out of shape.
Said for a while that the fitness of SL teams has nose dived. I think the level of athleticism isn’t up to scratch.

This has surely got to be Shaun Wane’s job.
Sheens, like Bennett, is yesterday’s coach. Bennett has his head stuck in 2006.

| I'm struggling to think of a single positive to come out of the tour.
Wilkin has just made the excuse we are missing some world class players (we are) but then says if the effort & application are there you are going to compete. The latter was the difference today. Around the PTB there were plenty of ordinary kicks by PNG but the effort by the team converted them into points. We had non-existent HBs in Widdop & Austin then Williams running round like a headless chicken throwing long balls to no-one.

Just what we need, another out of date Aussie. Has to be Shaun Wayne - put some pride and passion back into the shirt.

| Just looked up the weather in Port Moresby
Currently 27 degrees - feels like 32.
Humidity 89%.
That's real "Wet" season weather.

| I have been annoyed by the defence of the indefensible on this forum over the last few weeks. It's the ref, its the selection, its the coach, we have a good group of players, it's the heat, Widdop is a good player, Lomax is a good player, if Clark was on, if Williams, was on.....
Let's be realistic:
- this IS the worst GB team of all time.
- today's team was the weakest group of players ever to step on a field for GB in my view. We had one good international player - Graham, who is in the Autumn of his career (unfortunately, he went of after the opening tackle and the pack were directionless after) and two solid players - Bateman and McGilvary. Not sure any other player in today's starting line up is of international class.
- the selectors have devalued the shirt by selecting Aussies who have been worse than useless and an utter disgrace on all levels. I sincerely hope they are never selected for us again. If we're going to be useless at least we should be British and useless.
- the half-backs are a joke, wholly ineffective and lacking in creativity or a kicking game.
- based on recent results we are operating at 6th in international RL (after Aus, Tonga, NZ, Fiji and PNG).
The awful thing is the trajectory of British RL - its going further behind Australia and NZ and teams like PNG have improved massively over the last decade. Within a decade I can see them running away from us like Australia and NZ have. Today may be looked back as a watershed moment like 1982 (or for those of us as Headingly for the third test in 1979, 1979) when it dawned on the RFL and the supporters how far behind we were.
Unless SBW gets bums on seats and kids in their thousands playing RL we'll be like France have been within a decade or so.
What also annoys me is the talk of GB being a 'brand.' Well a brand is a product that produces superior returns compared with the competition based on quality and reputation supported by strong marketing. Today was the day that the brand was destroyed and became a supermarket own product.

I'm same. Boas was superb. Tali wouldn't look out of place but 2 great centres in Mead and Olam.

| An opportunity missed to give the squad players game time with a view to the World Cup in 2021. We needed to start planning for this, and the squad selection with this event on the horizon was bizarre.
