I've never said the usual number of articles isn't ok, the issue is about this two weeks. Stop deflecting away from the issue with tangents of Donald Trump, Zealots, Real Ale, Pornhub and Brexit because it's easily seethrough of someone digging a hole because he can't accept the side he so desperately backed is at fault this time and deserves criticism.

You asked me a couple of questions, now it's my turn

- Why did the BBC website go pretty much dead for two weeks on RL news. (I'll advise you to remember the other articles they've posted in the past before answering badly)

To answer your question, I have no idea why the BBC seemed to stop posting RL articles for about 15 days in January.....but that is not the point. The point was:

To recap. The opening poster claims that the BBC website "pathetic" whilst your first foray into the thread was to claim that "it is in their interests to attract as many visitors to their site" as a reverse way of saying they aren't very good at their job.
All I have done is say that their website is neither pathetic nor badly run, but is in fact the #1 UK based News Media Website by a long stretch.

My comments about fake news, Donald trump and real ale not being sold in a chemist were all posted purely because you continued to decry the site, suspecting that "something was up" and you therefore were returning there regularly even though their content was old and stale.....like trying to order that pint of tetleys in superdrug......

....but again, the BBC website is not the place I go to for RL news as it is not the best place to find it. Sky and a series of RL related sites are far better for finding out what's going on and whilst I do visit the BBC site for UK news (because it's the #1 ranked news media site that is neither pathetic nor badly run), I hardly ever look at sports news there but rather go to relevant specialist sites.

Lets face it.... no broadcaster gives a rats ass about RL, RL is a last ditch programme filler.

This sportt needs some serious advertising and major sponsership

1. I disagree. SKY pay a decent amount for the game, without which the game would not operate as a fully professional sport in the UK. SKY do, I agree, treat us as a filler and with disdain, but that is more to do with us greedily accepting their money and not standing up to them when they demand things like "Thursday" night games, or moving fixture dates and times. We also get very little promotional activity from them. The Warriors get free advertising as part of the NZ/NRL section of the TV deal...thay advertise upcoming games with ticket prices....we should be allowed the same sort of thing.
2. The sport will never attract top line sponsors or advertisers until we raise the audience level and the audience demographic. Pay Day loans, Bookies, Bingo, Ambulance chasers and Mushy Peas only goes towards confirming the public misconception that we are a northern pastime and not a national or International sport of any value. Attracting that audience is the responsibility of the Clubs and the RFL.....and to do this they need to employ people from outside the sport.

That's all you needed to say instead of acting like you knew whilst attacking others.




That's not all you've done though is it. You've attacked posters calling them zealots and comparing them to Donald Trump and basically slagging them off because they criticise an issue you've just readily admitted you can't explain the actions of.

As pointed out previously with the comparison with Leeds having the highest attendance in SL....being number 1 does not mean they're perfect or can't improve themselves.

It's a forum. Different views and banter are to be expected....if you can't handle the banter then don't get involved, but don't mistake banter for an attack.



No, I've had a pop at people and compared them to DT and accused them of zealotry based on the opening posts of both the owner of the thread and yourself and others that are all to ready to blame the BBC for the woes of the game. It is a fact that not one fan has been lost to the game because the BBC RL site seemed to take a 2 week break, but apparently this is worthy of calling the site "pathetic" and "badly run" (sic)


Leeds are #1 RL side in the country and yes they strive to be better at what they do as this will lead to ore fiscal security, but comparing them to the #1 UK based Media Website is trite at best. The only people looking for RL news on the BBC website will be ......wait for it........drum roll.......RUGBY LEAGUE FANS! I'd hazard a guess that the traffic on the RL portion of the site was actually UP over the last few weeks with the usual team of Zealots visiting hourly before getting all uppity at the perceived slight to TGG.

The point of this thread, as was stated in the opening post, is that in the opinion of the OP as well as others, the BBC website is pathetic. It is plainly not pathetic as it is the #1 ranked UK MEDIA NEWS WEBSITE.

BTW. As you've asked, then so will I. Why do you think there was a hiatus in posting news stories on the RL section of the #1 ranked UK MEDIA NEWS WEBSITE.

Nope...I think you'll find that the OP has form in terms of sweeping criticism of Auntie and her coverage of RL and to call a website "pathetic" is pretty damning. You accusations of it being run sloppily and lazily are a slight on the website as well as is your fixation with comparing Leeds RLFC to the BBC website, whilst dismissing F1 and RL as a comparison because the F1 season is in the middle of its off season whilst the RL has a week left....bemoaning the BBC whilst applauding SKY sports for advertising the game they have sole live TV rights for and my personal favourite.....

. The only FACT that matters is that the BBC website is not a good place to go for RL news, so most people don't go there. This doesn't seem to worry the BBC site managers or otherwise they would offer more RL......maybe you should write to them and complain about this perceived slight on the game.....or you could just go somewhere else for your fix of RL news.

As for the answer, I gave it to you. I said I don't know, which is a honest assessment unlike yourself who claims you know why, it's because their lazy, shoddy and that somethings gone iffy at their end which is nothing other than your opinion.

I took your word that there wasn't any news on the BBC F1 page.....I've had a look and their was about 10 articles in the time that RL had just 1.....so stop using as a companion because you're looking more and more stupid for it.

Nope...no backtracking at all. I have said consistently through this thread that the best solution for anyone expecting to or wanting to reach extensive RL coverage is to go somewhere else and that calling them pathetic, sloppy or Lazy is pointless and basically incorrect as they run the #1 UK based Media News Website.
You criticising them and saying that they're losing traffic is your prerogative, but the reality is if they were concerned about getting fewer hits they's have addressed the issue......I have not deviated from this stance at all...let alone backtracked.

Finally, your constant claim that I think the BBC can do no wrong. I have never said this, but once again in your POTUS mode, you repeat this lie over and over again in the hope that it will somehow become fact. The reality is that the BBC are not infallible but in this case, a local sport played by 2 French, 1 London and 21 M62 clubs at its top uk level has little right to "DEMAND" exposure on the NATIONAL broadcasters website.

No one has "demanded" more. They've questioned why it dropped significantly from its usual level...,,get this through your head.
