I think its because wigan were put on a team warning for next infringment.it just so happened to be a soft offside that picked up the card after all the cynical foul play.

Aye, it's almost as if Wigan have a big cup game coming up or something.
The verdict is ridiculous. They reckon it was shoulder to shoulder, which it clearly wasn't, it was pretty well aligned with O'Brien's spine and too high. The RFL are saying a late shoulder to the head is now just a penalty. Probably worth sticking a shoulder into the head of the kicker whenever they are clearing the ball from their own half I'd say?

| What annoyed me last night was Wigan players constantly moving off the mark at play the ball. A couple of times it put the saints markers not square.

If the man playing the ball moves off the mark then as long as the markers maintain position at the actual mark and are square with each other they are fine. You had more than your fair share of being offside and not square.

Oh i see, sorry! Well FWIW,i think childs was looking for an easy get out after all the penaltys before it.he should really have binned a player a fair bit earlier but didnt have the balls to act at the time which is what lead to more foul play.green can certainly count himself unlucky.

| Don't know where all this contact from the head rubbish is coming from regarding the Taylor incident, I't was a late stupid shoulder charge but having seen it on the tv and the slow replays it's clear that there is no contact with the head, A clear whiplash effect, and he then bangs his head on his own player. Still, Not saying it was right at all, it was a bad one. But there was no contact with the head which seems to be the difference between being sent off and not.
No arguments with the result, Wigans Discipline last night was shocking, we played poorly and didn't deserve anything out of the game, but Saint's got away with things aswell. I still fail to see why Blake Green got sent off either. James Child shouldn't be able to officiate these sort of games, He just doesn't have the balls to keep control.

Yeah I don't think I can disagree with that.

| Fortunately most SL coaches aren't like Silverback Wane who nearly soiled his underwear when Matty Smith was tackled (fairly as it turned out) when passing the ball earlier on this season. Silverback was calling for the death penalty for Smiths "assailant", even though there was nothing wrong with the challenge. It's a good job we don't get the drama and histrionics from the coaches on the wrong end of Wigans misdemeanours.

| Wigan are a pretty dirty team overall these days; Maguire's influence which appears to be favoured by Wane. However, those saying that Taylor's illegal shoulder charge on O'Brien was to the head mustn't have watched the match back on TV because it really wasn't. It WAS a shoulder charge, so we rightly were awarded a penalty, but the problem for O'Brien was that Wello was in the way and he was charged into Wello and that is what knocked him out. However, Taylor has to take responsibility for O'Brien's injury because he should never have shoulder charged him in the first place. Even when it was legal to do so there was no need for it as the ball had left O'Brien's hands. Taylor was just acting out the general dirty attitude of Wigan at the moment.
I thought the game was a good one. While there were patches of scrappiness, there was also some good skill on show and I was especially pleased by Saints' improved defence and attitude, both of which have been sorely lacking this season particularly at home. It would appear that the fans' hostility towards their unprofessional attitude at LP previously, when playing HKR, worked wonders as they actually put some passion back into their game. I thought the match had everything a derby should have and while the crowd was down on all previous recent derbies, there was a great atmosphere at LP, better than any previously, and the two teams left nothing in the changing rooms, which is how it should be.

| Just watched the match again. Taylor doesn't make contact with GO'B's head so ref got it right on the night. Penalty for a shoulder charge but no sending off as no contact with the head. Also noticed how unlucky Charnley was to be pulled back when clear after Saints knocked on at the try line. Almost certain 6 points for Wigan chalked off by bad refereeing. He should have let Charnley go under the sticks then called for vid ref.
