Manchester United players have a history of watching Wigan. As someone else mentioned, Keane, Giggs and several of the early-mid 90s United squad used to frequent Central Park, and I'm sure that relationship has lingered until today. I rememer meeting Keane at an airline bash back in the mid-90s and we talked about Wigan for a while. He even bought me a beer!
Rooney once made an infamous statement - when asked what he thought of England's performance in the 2007 RWC, he said "I haven't seen it. I've been watching the rugby league." |

| Russell Watson is a Salford supporter, and a big fan of Rugby League. I remember reading an interview where he also stated that he used to go to Naughton Park in the 80's to watch Widnes as well.
They used to play one of his songs after Widnes games as a result. The one he did for the Star Trek series Enterprise. I can't remember what it was called.
Vin Diesel is a Widnes supporter.  |
