Quote: jools "Be nice if you actually looked around. Perhaps count up how many current players playing the game actually started at hudds academy or scholarship- you might be surprised. Huddersfield have an grade a academy- and have produced a long list of players who are playing the game at professional or semi professional level.
In fact our entire back line who played against saints last week came through our club……
I’m sick of having the same arguments though -it’s easy to have the best academy when you can attract the best talent. Walmsley and smithies two cases in point- both from the area both wanted by Huddersfield both decided to sign for saints / wigan. What can you do?
The gap isn’t looking that massive tonight is it.'"

Its not the quantity, its the quality. Thats what I am trying to get across.

I didn’t think Walmsley went through the Academy route, thought he was an academic at Leeds Met and just played a bit of rugby at university amateur level. Then opted for his hometown club of Dewsbury Celtic.

Enjoy and cheer your team’s success. To expect fans of other teams to do the same and reinforce your self-congratulatory beliefs about how it has been achieved is just a bit needy. We understand what you’re saying, it’s just that it is neither interesting nor insightful.

Quote: TheWarringtonWolve69 "The gap between these 2 heavyweights and the rest of super league is just massive. Ian Watson was giving it large this week about how he wants his Huddersfield team to be the 3rd team in the mix. Come on. Hudds need to build an academy first, something that St Helen’s and Wigan are 30 years in front of everyone else with. Instead of signing players no one else wants, concentrate on grass roots as that’s the basis for St Helen’s and Wigans success.

We all want to see more more teams in the grand final mix but it’s not going to happen for years. Just don’t beat your chest to the press just because your club is the best of a very bad bunch'"

Saints themselves are the best of a bad bunch. Super League is absolutely crap, the level is appalling and it's been blatantly obvious since day one saints would win the grand final. Teams that should be able to challenge (warrington, leeds, hull, and to a lesser extent, certainly in previous seasons wigan) are all over the place. Wigan are saints closest challengers and they turn up and do what they did last night. Might as well just give saints a decade of titles on a plate. I couldn't be less interested.

I think the interest might be whats happening with the bottom 3 teams, Dire have an horrendous set of remaining fixtures and could possibly only win 2 from the remaining 7 games. If they get hammerings off Wigan and Huddersfield (2) its possible they could be relegated on points difference, you would think Wakey and Tolouse would play with some guts but not sure about Dire though with Powell struggling to manage his players.

Fancy losing tomorrow? You'll still finish top, piece of urine, but it'll really put warrington in the do do.

We are notorious for losing to bottom teams.

I reckon Wakefield’s players will have seen that Toulouse result and will be bouncing off the wall itching to play tomorrow (if they aren’t they aren’t fit to wear the shirt). Saints will be a bit patched up and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Wakefield win tomorrow.

As a Wire fan, could you please point me towards the 2 games we might win, as I'm struggling to work it out right now???

Might be Toulouse and Cas.

Another consideration is that Wigan and Saints could determine if they want the Wolves to be relegated, another couple of games and 1st and 2nd place could be resolved. Saints and Wigan could start resting players ready for the play offs and send weakened teams to the Wakey and Toulouse if those teams get points then its possible Wire might go down on points difference.

As much as the wolfs being relegated would be hilarious. It’s not going to happen. Stop panicking. Wakefield could play Rylands under 18s and will still lose. They are going down

Though I appreciate it would be amusing for followers of Saints and Wigan if Wire were to be relegated, I'd suggest from a commercial perspective, the 2 clubs themselves would prefer Wire to remain in the league from a commercial point of view, ahead of Wakefield and, especially, Toulouse?

Also from just a general spectator point of view, surely a local derby is preferable to Toulouse rocking up on a Friday night with zero supporters and a dead atmosphere?

The Toulouse home game was Wigan's biggest home attendance of the season.
