Think the thread has gone a bit mad, it's irrelevant of individuals opinions on here of merits of vaccinations.
Currently un vaccinated players are unable to play in France, I know some clubs have 100% playing staff double vexed. That means some teams have many more than 20% unvaxed, am more interested in how the RFL will approach it. Of interest I believe Mark Kerelia at TO is very anti vax, not sure what's happening with him, if he is not jabbed he cannot play simple.
Believe one of clubs 100% jabbed are Catalans

And for benefit of doubt.
I stated that I don't know ow the situation with folk that claim exemptions from vax for any reason an example asthma, I do not know if its an acceptable reason.
Although I know several asthma sufferers that have had jabs with no side effects so far

For me anyone who refuses to have the vaccine, if they get covid should have any treatment refused or a best have to provide a credit card up front, only way to get through to these morons why should rest of society have to keep giving up for these morons, they deserve to be excluded from society f**$k the stupid c**nts'"

Can you show me where any public health official or scientist has claimed being vaccinated will guarantee you will never be hospitalised from covid?

If you actually looked at the data released you will see it lists the percentage of all those hospitalised which are unvaccinated.

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... erview.pdf

29/12 daily report the total hospitalised in England from Omricon unvaccinated was low., only 26% of persons were unvaccinated.

But hey do keep pushing the narrative that the health system is having to waste resources which could be used elsewhere on the unvaccinated as nobody vaccinated ends up in hospital.

Why should it just be unvaccinated people who need to pay for treatment if required?

How about smokers? Heavy drinkers? Alcoholics? Recreational Drug users? Dangerous Drivers?

The clinical obese who won't stop eating? Unhealthy people who go on to suffer from diabetes?

Are those all ok on that moral high ground you sit on or should everyone who chooses not make the same life choices as you not recieve the same Healthcare you do even though they pay the same taxes you do?

Well, given the fact that the majority of people in the UK are fully vaccinated, then most covid cases/deaths are going to involve vaccinated people. However, once this context is factored into the stats, the death rate is far lower in vaccinated people.

The more people who are vaccinated also significantly reduces the likelihood of further variants, as the body is likely to fight off the virus much quicker giving the virus less time to replicate and mutate. It would help if the pharmaceutical companies waved the patents on the vaccines so poorer countries could manufacture their own.

That balance has changed we are getting more un vaccinated people going into hospital and causing the current death rates. The load on the NHS is still rising and could reach a tipping point in the next couple of weeks, however from South Africa data the cycle lasts around 6 weeks. This is very close to our tipping point and thats why there is such a big push by the government and medical science to vaccinate.

We have around 150 000 hospital beds in the UK and normally in the winter period without Covid it has a take up of 90% which is 135 000 beds in use, That leaves us with a waterboard margin of 15 000 beds for Covid and people whohave delayed major illnesses caused by the Covid Load. Currently at the date of 31st December a few days ago we have 12 400 covid cases hospilised.

The other factor is that their is a drop in staff of at least 25% directly or indirectly through Covid, another tipping point which is adding to the NHS load.

Its a race of vaccinate restrictions and consideration against time because by maths we roughly have 2 400 hospital beds left, these next few weeks are critical and everyone is encouraged to do their bit. We might not follow the South Africa model because the UK has such a large density population spread which does us no favour with the transmission rate with an R rate greater than 3.

Omricon daily report 31/12 still has unvaccinated hospitalised at 25%.

These low percentages are no surprise though as even if the unvaccinated cases go up as long as one is young and healthy they will suffer some symptoms and then recover as well as then having some immunity for any future infections.

Why natural immunity seems to be ignored and its a drive to keep pumping vaccines into people I have no idea. Studies have shown natural immunity is effective in stopping hospitalisation.

If you've had covid then the natural immunity you get by fighting it off is a better protection than a vaccine. Quite possibly, even probably. How recent the vaccine doses were given and whether you've had a booster are a factor to consider.

However, being vaccinated/boosted does appear to give a better statistical chance of avoiding severe illness, hospitalisation and death compared to having no previous protection.

Natural immunity is great, so long as catching covid doesn't kill you first!

Like many of you, I have some covid "vulnerable" friends. They're not unhealthy, obese, smokers, drinkers or whatever. Life has just dealt them a hand which means that they're more susceptible to disease/illness than others. Those that are happy socialise, mix, and spread the virus are putting the lives of these individuals at risk. They still need shop for basic needs, and why others blatantly ignore the simple requirement to wear a mask and keep a sensible distance is beyond me.

Herd immunity would have succeeded at some point. The vaccine has probably cut the immunity time in half if not more.

Memory cells create protection. But that often wears off has you escalate in life.. Hence flu jabs.
