What annoys me sometimes on the televised home games with Leeds is the brass band background noise its getting worse than the Huddersfield cow bell.'"
Yeah that’s why 7 of Leeds’ last 9 games have been on Sky and with games against Hudds and Saints coming up it’ll 9 in 12.

| People will still watch no matter what game is on. I don't watch a game purely because it is Leeds on sky. I just watch because I enjoy the sport. There is a couple of tasty looking fixtures every week so it wouldn't be hard to still pick interesting fixtures if Leeds went down (saying that, sky do manage to mess this up at times already!).
The fewer games on TV with that awful band in the background, the better (for me at least).

Some people do tune in regardless of whose playing but many won’t either otherwise you’d get a more even spread of televised games between all 12 clubs.
The band might be annoying, that won’t bother Sky. Sky are not a charity who are just going to offer us whatever we want. Sky will want to offer us as little as they can get away with. If they can walk into negotiations saying you’ve just lost your biggest supported club who they usually show 2/3rds of their games a year they’ll use that to get a better deal FOR THEM. Unlike football we don’t have a host of different tv companies desperate to show us so SL isn’t in a position of strength nor have a good record of securing good deals so if anybody thinks Sky will role over for them is living in a fantasy land.

I’ll stop writing Straw Man when you stop posting them.
You’ve just done it again, who has said SL won’t survive without Leeds, it seems you’re incapable of actually responding to the words people are writing.

Yes that have but, unlike seasons where Leeds were performing well, this season it has been akin to looking out of the car window when there are blue flashing lights on the other carriageway.
You know that you shouldn't look but, just cant help seeing a train wreck

bit rich considering your team has only won 1 of their last 8 including a Sky match against were Leeds nilled you and none of your team could stop fatty Lolohea going 80m against. Something about glass houses and stones considering your last 2 tv showings at Catalans and Wigan.

Hang on, surely the inclusion of Toronto in SL (assuming they make it), will surpass the interest any other side.
They are the future, we must embrace them, Toronto are our saviours
Being serious for a moment, they (Toronto) will create plenty of interest in their first couple of seasons.

Absolute nonsense, they have focused on the relegation battle as its interesting Leeds just happen to be in it. Would be covering those ganes irrespective of who's is playing.
Leeds will be missed if relegated but the world will keep spinning day will turn to night and things will continue. This idea that the game will implode if the worst team in the league goes down is bonkers.

Yeah but, as train wrecks go, Trinity are like an old escort with a small dent in the bumper but, Leeds are something altogether bigger and shinier, that is more akin to a new Rolls Royce, with smoke coming from under the bonnet and a couple of well to do blokes looking on disappointed

Again who has said it will implode?
Whats is being said is that SL as a whole will be in a weaker position without it’s best supported club in it, it’s hardly a controversial statement.

By who exactly? As a Salford and Man Utd fan it'll give me great pleasure watching Leeds Utd and Leeds Rhinos slumming it in the 2nd tier of their respective leagues. I'm sure there are plenty others as well who'd feel exactly the same.

| Once again so many people letting their partisan nonsense cloud their judgement about what's best for the actual game.
If Leeds finish bottom should we be relegated? Yes, absolutely 100% of course we should. They're the rules and what's good for everyone else is good for us.
Will that hurt Super League? Yes, absolutely 100% of course it will. If Sky were just about to renegotiate their Premier League coverage and Liverpool or Man Utd had just been relegated then their offer would be lower. So it will be with SL.
Like Leeds or not, they are one of the few marquee sides in the competition and if the worst happens then it will, unfortunately, cost the league financially.
On a sporting and competitive level I have no problem with people revelling in our demise (I had a bigger problem with people who refused to accept that we deserved our success to be honest) as that's sporting rivalry, but that doesn't mean you can't also recognise that Leeds going down brings problems with it. It doesn't mean you think Leeds are the be all and end all of the game, it doesn't mean you think SL won't survive without Leeds, it just means you've got a bit of a handle on reality.
Hopefully it won't come to that and we'll play our way out of trouble, we'll know soon enough.

| London or Wakefield for me. If Broncos win 2 games, can Wakey win the one that is required to keep them safe ?
