So if you work for the sun you have no morals? Has Mark Chapman got no morals working for the BBC presenting challenge cup games after what they did regarding Jimmy saville?

'No thanks mate, some people involved in that newspaper told some horrendous lies 30 years ago - shove it, I'll starve"
Vincent Kompany strikes me as very nice man with a good moral compass but where he's taken his wages from for the past 10 years is a lot more morally objectionable IMO.

Let’s not forget those numerous former Liverpool players who have picked up a pay check from Murdoch run Sky over the years as pundits and commentators.

| Quote: PopTart "Just an observation Printer but the reason this keeps happening is that you are trivialising a subject that many people have extremely strong feelings about. You must surely recognise that?
The reasons behind the Sun ban are incredibly important to people in Liverpool and people who witnessed the incidents on tv at the time, whether you like it or not. Liverpool football club have made a decision to back the opinions of the people of Liverpool and I personally support them doing that too.
The reason the ban was imposed so much later than the original newspaper articles is because it took that long to go through courts and once proven the fans and the families involved made their opinions public, which the owner agreed with and imposed the ban.
Whether a mistake has been made in communication to or from the rugby league, or whether Liverpool benefit in any other way does not detract from the reason it was put in place and the sentiment behind it.
You have every right to back the Sun and it's opinions it posted about the Liverpool fans on that day if you wish, but it has been established through courts that the claims were false. But if you do choose to do that, you have to be ready for a backlash of opinion that not only doesn't agree with you but is offended by the way you post about it. That is also their right and that is what you are seeing on this board in my opinion.'"
I’m not trivialising nor backing The Sun over what they did in 1989. I’m talking about the situation here in 2019.
I’ve asked or pointed out some fair questions/facts that people have ignored to instead reply with an insult or that the only view we should have on this is “boo hiss The Sun they’re awful” and if you agree with us you have no morals....just like so many issues today if you disagree with those who claim to be the most tolerant, sympathic, good moral compass people.
- why didn’t Liverpool make it 100% clear before we agreed to go to Anfield, the onus is on them as it’s their ground and their rule.
- if people on here stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Liverpool then why don’t they slag off and boycott Sky too as some Liverpudlians do boycott all Murdoch related businesses.
- why do Liverpool still take their share of money that The Sun pay for their Goals App clip service?
- why have Liverpool past players happily picked up a pay check from Murdoch by appearing on Sky over the years?
If we are still judging everybody at The Sun for the mistakes of those who went before them then does the same apply to Liverpool fans who were to blame for the Heysel disaster a few years prior to Hillsborough. The aftermath of saw all English teams banned from Europe for 5 years and even though Liverpool got a longer ban originally they appealed and only had to miss one extra season compared to clubs who weren’t even involved in the accident. The Heysel disaster was just as much if not more responsible for people’s opinions of Liverpool fans wrt to Hillsborough than The Sun but Liverpool try and brush Heysel under the carpet and like to act like that one didn’t happen because on that occasion they were guilty.

As I stated previously, I'm happy to do without their (The Sun's) contribution if this means keeping just a small amount of moral backbone.
I'll happily stand shoulder to shoulder with Liverpool FC and the people affected by the LIES peddled by The Sun, which contributed and prolonged the suffering of those involved. Their headlines at the time not only blamed the Liverpool fans for causing the events at Hilsborough but, branded them thieves and pick pockets and yet, YOU are worried about upsetting one of their journalists
Vincent Kompany is utterly irrelevant in this one and for all of those citing the length of time since Hilsborough, you're absolutely right.
Why the hell did it take this long for any justice whatsoever to be passed. Maybe, The Sun and others prolonged the agony for all of those involved.
If they'd had some honesty at the outset and pointed the finger of blame at those in charge at Hilsborough, rather than print utter lies and smears, justice would have been far swifter AND they would never have been banned by Liverpool FC or ostracised by the Liverpool public.
Just for a minute, try and put yourself in the position of those affected

The great rivalry between the clubs apparently not held by someone who accepted a knighthood for his 'Hillsborough' involvement despite his connection with an agent with strong links to Manchester United and criminals involved with a lot more than a small minority of victims.
Why does he not remove himself from any involvement with The Sun? rlPhoto In The Sunrl]

Let’s not forget Dalgish, the players, the fans and club as a whole coming out in support of Luis Suarez even after he was guilty of racially abusing another player even wearing Suarez T-shirt’s pregame in their warmup yet have the hypocrisy to condemn the racist abuse Mo Salah has received.

14 Liverpool fans got jailed for a whopping 18.....months and just one month before the Hillsborough disaster and as much likely to influence the public’s opinion of LIverpool supporters but as I said earlier they don’t mention that. Juventus fans still feel like they haven’t got true justice for Heysel. Wonder if anybody got that length of sentence for Hillsborough that Liverpool fans would consider that justice?

| To be fair Liverpool did apologise to Juventus....albeit 20+ years later... but time taken to apologise shouldn't matter should it? Also Liverpool is a city built on the slave trade ergo everyone that lives or has ever lived in Liverpool has no morals according to this mental logic.

It's a fair point but your use of the word mistakes is questionable.

| Should every black person boycott the city of Liverpool, never living or working or even stepping foot in the town, because it was built on the Atlantic slave trade?

Nobody is trying to condone the behaviour of Liverpool fans at Heysal, certainly not me.
I would imagine that to the families of those killed or injured, justice can never be done, just as it cant for the Liverpool fans that died and were injured at Hilsborough.
There isn't a prison sentence around that can make up for one of your friends or family being killed in either circumstance.
However, there were Liverpool "fans" charged with manslaughter and imprisoned and rightly so.
I'm assuming that you are trying to infer that because of Heysal, Liverpool and anyone associated with them has no right to complain or that because of those events, they (Liverpool) are being unreasonable in banning employees of The Sun newspaper from entering their ground.
Strange logic but, you, like everyone else, are entitled to your opinion.
The naivety displayed from some on here in believing that despite a ban on Sun journalists going to Anfield, that they (the Sun) still tried to send one of their employees to the ground.
Dont you think that, despite this being a RL event, they might have made contact prior to sending their journalist over there.
Also, IF the journalist had a background in sport coverage, might it have been wise for him to check, prior to going or, is this too bleeding obvious.
Despite The Sun being at the lower end of the media spectrum, even they are bright enough to know these things or, maybe, they thought there would be a better "scoop" in having their man stopped at the gates OR, actually getting into Anfield and stirring the pot further.
It's no wonder the world is now led by Trump and Boris/Farage

Sun journalists are allowed in for champions league games, so their reporters clearly arent 'scum' when big money is involved.

No what highlighting Heysel does is that them blaming The Sun for influencing public opinion alone is misguided when around the same time they had fans getting jailed for deaths of fans at another football match. Their own fan base has its fair share of blame for public opinion towards them or did around that time.

They/he did check beforehand, they/he were told it was fine and he’d be allowed in.
