Agree but we have been known to be awful too, I do think Leeds problem started with a great youth side growing into the top side in the game & all getting old together, Rovers have done well out of the Leeds academy, McDermot did what Don Revie did across the city, not keeping his winning team evolving by replacing players early. Or that’s how as an outsider sees it.

Merrin and Hurrell were signed to sell season tickets for the new stands, if you can’t see that and go for the “helping youngsters” then you’re deluded. Garbutt was released to accommodate Merrin, that’s why Parcell and Cuthbertson were offered out too because of cap space (they didn’t have the injury excuse that was levelled against Garbutt).
Yes Garbutt was a Leeds player last year and we finished 9th, only just slipping into that place late on after being up around 4th/5th and that’s with plenty other prop injuries including his. Wonder if Sinfield will release Ablett and Ward this year after their injury hit years....I doubt it.'"
And we may finish 9th or higher this year, you seem to think I’m happy were at the bottom at the moment, I’m not but I’m disagreeing with you that it it is all Sinfields fault.

Nope.....you're a bottom 3 club this year who will be thankful that London got promoted and not Toronto. To date, you've beaten Leeds, London, Wakefield and FC.....with only Leeds and London being by more than 1 score. It could well be argued that your win at Wakefield was more to do with the weather than the game......but you won none the less.
HKR, like London and a couple of other sides perform better than expected now and again, but we are bottom half sides who are not challenging for honours, but fighting for survival.........and that is where our sport fails.
Give out 20 licences......central funding dependent on the prior years finishing position......wealthy backers can buy their team "up the table" if they want and strict cap with one marquee allowed.......current 12 + 8 others who are happy to commit to a minimum spend......so let all of Jean's fantasy sides in.....but the reality is that forking out £3 million or more to finish 12th will soon wear thin for the Argyles of this world....

TBF though the Marquee ruling has been in place a few years, he never got given the chance to use it.
No coincidence that after signing the likes of Webb, Eastwood and Buderus in 2007-2009, the South Stand got condemned by health and safety in 2010 (since that year we’ve had to spend a 6 figure fee in maintenance to keep them open) and GH came out said we’d hopefully have both main stands rebuilt by the end of 2014 and any impressive NRL signings stopped. Because of usual struggles in this area of building work it’s only just now been completed. In those years NO big NRL signings, with ‘project’ signings being made, some working out some not. For a Garbutt there was an Achurch. Low and behold the stands are completed and we sign 2 marquee NRL players. McDermott never got that luxury of replacing key players with the quality that was needed, he was asked to do it on the cheap whilst the stadium issues rumbled on year upon year. As soon as the Stands were rebuilt he was dismissed, if the two main stands at Leeds were still waiting to being green lighted for being rebuilt then make no mistake McDermott would still be in charge and no marquee signings would be made and Furner and Sinfield wouldn’t have stepped in without the promise of money to spend.

Totally discounting the fact that we've been badly plagued with injuries since round one (worse than anyone in my opinion) and been with in a shout of winning every game we've played bar the Huddersfield game.
Yep, my conclusion is that you know as much as most armchair pundits and Leeds head coach; naff all.

| All this talk about Leeds making the wrong marquee signings and other decisions about players and no mention of a certain Mr Hetherington in all this? He was on today and saying that, although these singings were made before Furner arrived, "He was pleased to have these players available"!!! I have always had the suspicion that Mr H has had much more to do with decisions made than is generally made public! I wonder how long Furner will be here before urgent matters suddenly require his return down under???

TBF that’s nonsense as Lolohea said in the offseason that working with Furner was a key reason to signing for Leeds. Now Lolohea signed for Leeds a week or two after McDermott was sacked in July and Furner was appointed in November (at least officially) . You think a Tonga player who just happened to have Furner as his assistant coach was conviently signed just before his appointment?
If anybody thinks Hetherington of all people would give up his on field rugby performance decision making role mid way through a season wilfully then they’re kidding themselves. He was forced out of that role by other directors who bought into the idea that all the success was down to Sinfield and Peacock, hence why they’ve both strolled into rolls their not ready for now, because too many at the club go gooey eyed at their presence. Furner is 100% Sinfield’s choice. Furner AND Sinfield were lined up well before McDermott’s departure:
McGuire said it in the As Good As It Gets film....”its a player led club” and the golden generation of players have way too much stroke at that club even in retirement and have/are worming their way into off field roles that they aren’t ready for. I mean Sinfield has been talking about having the role he’s got now since around 2009/2010.

Sweeping statement that we are/Will be a bottom 3 club. You fail to acknowledge the 6 props unfit plus Quinlan and Lunt out. Lunt now slowly getting back to fitness.the Saints and Warry away performances were very close despite losing and only the Hudds game we stunk. But only Masoe fit in front row. Greenwood gone for season ..We looked good in attack tonight and scored some nice tries. Are we going to win anything? No.But I don't see us in same bracket as London

| Wow Printer, you're like a moon landing conspiracy theorist.
I don't think everything Sinfield has done is right at all, but letting BM off the hook is ridiculous. McDermott was flicked because of the general decline over a period of years, including much publicised issues with youth development on his watch.
Suggesting that Hetherington would not have backed the most successful coach in the history of the club to spend more, but decided to start signing new players for 2019 halfway through last season for the benefit of a coach who had did not sign a contract for more than 4 months and before BM even left is X Files territory.

Of course Hetherington has always had a huge role in what players get signed. It's not like he's some non-sporting director who hasn't a clue about Rugby League, he's an ex-top flight head coach and assistant GB coach. He knows what he's talking about and all the Leeds teams for the last 20 years were built by him, in consultation with his coaches. This isn't a secret.

No it’s not, the proof is there in what signings were made during McDermott’s years especially post Treble. Do you really think he was turning down the chance of a Marquee signing to have Jack Ormondroyd or Anthony Mullally instead.
Previous coaches got big signings like Iestyn Harris and Ali Lautiiti,Jamie Peacock and Danny Buderus. This coach has straight got two marquee signings. NcDermott wasn’t given those types of signings.

| Hull Kingston Rovers totally outplayed Leeds . Stand out players were Mitch Garbutt and Danny Mc Guire , Weller Hauraki & Taioalo Vai Vai were not at their best .
Jack Walker had a poor game , but the lad is young and needs time , The Leeds fans need to be patient with him and not shatter the lads confidence . Konileti Hurrell and Kallum Watkins were Leeds stand out players .
