Quote Pats plastic pitch="Pats plastic pitch"First with Toronto and now this, it just sets a norm really of if you have millions in the bank, the pathway to being a superleague club will only take 2-3 years. They're not even sure yet what they're doing with the option of still "relocating" a current club. It wouldn't attract many away from widnes i know that for sure but like i have said previously, if it takes off at amateur level and in schools in Liverpool, that will be a success for me. Liverpool is a sporting mad City but this will be a challenge'"
Any successful club will take fans from their local rivals.
Of course, "true" fans would NEVER change allegiance. However, there are glory supporters everywhere.
During the height of Bullmania, there were nearly as many Bulls fans in Wakefield as there were Trinity fans, all streaming off to Odsal with their cars be-decked in flags and banners.
Thankfully, we only have Cas to worry about now (and Leeds).
However, the point stands, people will be drawn to successful clubs, just look at Man United, none of their fans actually live in Manchester
The real issue for any new "super club" is the structure underneath the SL side, which HAS to be in place. If not, despite any initial boost, they could actually destroy the game, especially if success does not come relatively quickly and Mr Koucash never seemed to have much patience.
