The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

It's a farce really. The sport doesn't have enough international games in a year to start giving out awards like this. The Golden Boot should go to the player who could arguably be called the best performer in the sport over a year.
