I've told myself for years that Bateman just isn't big enough & will get found out eventually. But he hasn't & I was wrong; an absolutely brilliant player. A loss to our game but I can't wait to see how he copes against the Aussies in his best position week in, week out.

They should bring back the league player of the year, like they used to and the MOS should be separate. Some players in the past one both and fair enough, but some previous MOS winners would not get a look in in the current format.
