It'd be more interesting than listening to Gutterfax spouting stats all night that no one's even asked about.

Don't talk daft man. Everyone knows that the RL world starts in Hull and ends in Halton.

Aviva Premiership attendance 2013/14
The average attendance for Aviva matchdays of 22 rounds was 12,754 {a rise of 3.1%} which comfortably beat Super Leagues average of 8,153 {decrease of 4%}. George Osbourne could learn alot from you

Good to know that SL's watched by more people on the terraces and live on TV than the Aviva Premiership.
Not bad for a sport in deep trouble.

WTF has that got to do with Union and Football?
Ah yet another Union Moonie desperately trying to cover up the posh boy sport's inadequacies. If only the RFU were as well run as the FA it might get as many fans in a year as English Football does in 5 days sometime soon.
Typical posh boy Union, southern arrogance to ignore and play down the infinitely more popular, and therefore better, sport. Does it make you feel better to belittle a sport that is so much more popular and we'll run than your own?

I haven't mentioned soccer and have no problem with it. When people are deliberately disengenuous about what other people have said, it's because they've lost the argument, as you have. BTW i am southern. I'm from South Wales

The 2 figures are for the regular season, the standard way of assessing attendances.
But if you really want then the SL figure moves up to 1,757,374.

Deliberately disingenuous? You mean like quoting attendances when people are talking about the on-field product?
Certain people wanted the discussion to go in one particularly way. I'm just going with the flow.
You're just a conspiracy-theorist, bitter, Union Moonie who can't take criticism of their beloved small sport so attacks a bigger, infinitely more popular, infinitely better run sport to make yourself feel better.
Did that have anything to do with what you wrote? Nah. But then neither did your or Gutterfax's posts on here either.

Opinions are like s mate. And it would seem that more people are if the opinion that they prefer to watch union than league..............and more sponsors would prefer to be attached to union, the tv companies pay more and the press write about it more.
As I say....best not to mention union at all.
Furthermore......if people insist on bringing up Union with it's ponderously slow set pieces and multiple collapsed scrums, it goes without saying that whilst nobody doubts that RL is by far the better product, the FACT that the general public prefer, sponsors prefer, TV companies pay more for and press pays more attention to Union will be repeated. And then, the tin-foil hat brigade will pipe up that the restriction of League in the media is not down to the fact that most of the pro team are within 50 miles of each other, but instead part of a secret Nazi plot to promote one code ahead of another. The 250,000 people who attended the victory parade in 2003, like the 15,000,000 who watched the final were either paid agents of the IRB or mindless sheep who know nothing. In addition, the 70,000,000 viewers the BBC claim for the 15 x 6 Nations games each year are actually BARB bots, sponsored and paid for by the Italian RFU in an attempt to further marginalise League in its' Milanese heartland.
France, where the IRB are still hiding Nazi collaborators, is another area where League is on the cusp of domination, if only they could sort out funding, a business plan, a TV deal and enough players to negate the need for a load of ANZAC back packers to make up numbers.
Let's discuss Union some more shall we?
The average attendance of the Aviva Union is greater.....but as the SL had more games, it actually had more people in attendance. This, to the tin-foil brigade is proof that "if only we could get exposure in the daily mail, we would dominate the globe". The reality is that whilst Twickenham is regularly full for the opening of an envelope, the RFL will be flogging tickets for a tenner to fill the Olympic stadium...because those s at the daily express won't publish SL scores
Then there's the TV deals. £44,000,000 a year across France, Ireland and the UK for 12 weeks action in the european comps......not sure how much that impacts the £38,000,000 a year BT pay for the Aviva, but at a combined £82,000,000 a year for the Euros and UK coverage of the Aviva, it's fair to say that Union commands a "tad" more TV cash than the Red Hall game.
What's that I hear you say? Nobody has said union's not bigger? Then why in christs name mention friggin Union in the first place then? Don't tell me it was simply a critique of the game, not designed to make it look foolish and league better, because it's the only reason any of you dabble with it.
I have to say, I've learnt more about Union by researching the utter bollox claimed on here by the SAD than I ever did playing it......

| Lol. Thanks for proving my point.
Now back to you calling that far, far bigger and obviously better game boring. Don't tell me it was just a critique of the game and not an attempt to make Union seem better by comparison.
Go on, bring up the attendances and TV viewing figures for football. Football must be the best run sport in the world by a mile. If only the RFU could be as good as them.
