| Well before we get down about attendances. Leeds and Saints both up on their opening fixtures of last year and corresponding fixtures with the same opposition. So not all doom and gloom.

| It's maybe enough to counter the London attendance, but not London and Wakey's ground restrictions.

Looking at those figures, I'm a tiny bit disappointed with the saints attendance - I was hoping the Steve Prescott events might of been able to push us to challenge for a fixture record, but we were still no where near first season at langtree figures. That said it's still a good rise on the previous years!

| So we've gone from comparing previous season's attendances to now comparing 6 years' worth.
Talk about constantly moving goal posts to suit agendas. You couldn't make this crap up

| Where's the full listing so far? Come on William lift your game or are the attendances not depressing enough for you?

In fairness, he hasnt passed comment on them, just provided the information, we will now be entering a new ' era ' with very different ctriteria, so comparisons wont be as relevant until another 3-4 seasons have passed, effectively this season is a ' 1 off ' transition

I’m afraid he’s retired from being the official statistician this season, looks like he’s just going to put in the odd cameo appearance, however, the thread is still alive & kicking thanks to JonB95 – see OP.

Not my attendance thread.
Original attendance thread was locked as a consequence of a resident Moonie overreaction to the Wigan/Hudds opener being over 17% down on the attendance last season.
I'm sure JonB95 will do an excellent job in taking over this season.

Indeed.
For every SL round, I compared last season's SL attendances with every other season during the franchised 14 team, top 8 play-off era. How else would we all know that 2013 SL attendances were the lowest during that entire era?
Poor old Smokey's embarrassing claim that 2013 SL attendances would be the 2nd highest ever throughout RL history turned out to be comically misplaced, hence why he has allegedly blocked me (added me to his foe list) ever since.

I note that you were happy to avoid historical context last year whilst crowds were down, but now you are suddenly far more interested in it since they are rising again.
I will be comparing to last year and last year alone. So far this weekend, 2 of 3 Super League crowds have shown an increase on the same fixture from last season, whilst the World Club Challenge crowd was the largest since the 2009 edition.

How did I avoid the historical context last year when I included the cumulative attendance totals at the end of each round for every SL season from 2009 onwards?
Quote: JonB95 "I will be comparing to last year and last year alone.'"
That's entirely up to you. If anyone would like further historical context applied to your more limited figures on any particular occasion, they may request them from me.
Quote: JonB95 "So far this weekend, 2 of 3 Super League crowds have shown an increase on the same fixture from last season'"
Which is usually the case in the early rounds as opening fixtures of the season are among the best attended.
Quote: JonB95 "whilst the World Club Challenge crowd was the largest since the 2009 edition.'"
Not sure what relevance an Australian attendance has to Super League attendances but a more like-for-like comparison between WCC attendances in Australia would note that today's attendance of 31,515 was 41.88% lower than the attendance for the Brisbane V Wigan WCC game in 1994 during the pre-SL era.
