Nope, seen that at plenty of other stadiums over the years and even some of the new ones. Insects get everywhere!!
OK - its taking us some time, but we will get our new stadium in the end. Rugby league and Belle Vue has been around for 130 years or more. Is it really such an issue that it may take us an extra ten years or so to get our new facilities. We don't all have rich football teams or sugar daddies or even sympathetic councils, although we do seem to have turned that latter corner.

Wakey wouldn't get planning for any new stands at BV. I have always said that Cas should redevelop the ground starting with the main stand to run the full length of the side

The old man got attacked by a swarm of em on the terrace at York. Far more entertaining than the game

Whilst there certainly are wasps in Wakefield, I'm reasonably confident that it's not an exclusive arrangement.

Apart from the fact they have planning for a new stadium at Newmarket, please explain why they wouldn't get planning for new stands at BV (not withstanding the fact that funds are not available)

| Who the hell would allow a team to be in Super League with a 5K max ground. Hmmmmmm
What with their mates in Bradford owing money, owning no ground and fiddling administration. The future of RL is Yorkshire.
Them sh*thouses down south offer nothing.

| Quote: Him "Depends. Leeds had problems with the barriers they installed in the south stand in 2000 IIRC. It wasn't the barriers themselves but how they were installed into the concrete terracing. By 2008 it caused a reduction in capacity even with £250k of work done. Then 4 years later it cost another £500k to put the problem right. Apparently the way they were installed weakened the strength of the stand.
I'm by no means a builder or construction expert so no idea if that's the case here, but just highlighting how the barriers can cause problems!'"
from what I was told it was concrete cancer where the reinforced bars had blown causing more problems than just the barriers, I expect we will have the same problem in areas
if there's a way round it so we can increase the capacity as the season goes on then so be it, either way if this what we can do to aid more survival time then I help ass much as its needed

Indeed. The wasps are currently on loan at London. Kieron Dixon now fears for his place on the wing as the wasps are thought to be better in defence.

Yeah I would imagine the club will be just trying to spend on belle vue before the new stadium.
Wakey are in a difficult position to be fair. Do they spend a lot of money and fix the problem outright? Could be a waste of money they don't really have if the new stadium comes about quickly.
On the other if they only do remedial work to "patch it up" and there's a delay in the new stadium then it could end up costing more in the long run.
Leeds went for the patching up option, hoping to rebuild the South Stand soon anyway. But Leeds City Council in their infinite wisdom (bunch of t0ssers) denied planning permission, so we had to spend more money a year or so ago to make proper repairs.

It's a temporary reduction at a stadium we've occupied for well over 100 years, unlike Fulham, Charlton, Stoop, Griffin Park and wherever else the Crusading Bronco Harlequins have been in the last five minutes.

| Yep that's right give good old wakey a good kicking. Let's just forget the money that was spent 2 or 3 years ago putting roofs on the terraces in order to be SL compliant which errr no longer matter!! Nice one RFL, oh to be a Bulls fan.

| Unless Wakefield can get into a new modern stadium within two (2) years, guaranteed, then I think the best thing for all concerned would be for the club to be relegated. The RFL cannot afford to have television cameras at that eyesore of Belle Vue anymore. Lucky that they do not sample the Wakefield "food" in front of the cameras, nor hear some fans shrieking out in pain at the splinters they are scratched with on the crumbling wooden seats and railings, in the stands which have no panoramic views. Moreover, civlised patrons of the game cannot risk acquiring communicable diseases at the Belle Vue "toilets" any longer.
Come 2015 Toulouse will have a brand spanking new stadium, with at least 10,000 seating capacity, located right opposite a metro station. Seating will be comfortable and splinter free. The eating facilities will be excellent. The lavatories will be clean, aromatically fresh, and in perfect working order. That is the kind of 21st century sporting venue that rugby league, especially Super League, needs to be showcasing.

| I think you're more likely to get splinters in your backside at Headingley rather than Belle Vue.
