| As far as I can see Foxy Bingo is an associate sponsor. It's not going to be the Foxy Bingo Super League is it?
I know there was widespread critisism of the Stobart deal not generating any cash but at this late stage what sort of deal would SL be able to negotiate?
Apologies if this has been suggested before, but here's an idea...
Why not have a charity sponsor SL for 12 months? Joining Jack for example (I think Aston Villa did something similar with their shirts not long ago). This might not bring in any cash but what would it do for the image of the game? I reckon there'd be a knock on effect with other potential sponsors becoming keener to associate themselves with the sport & better deals available 12 months down the line.
Why not be the Joining Jack Super League for a season?

I do love 'an industry insider', as much as I love tabloid 'bystanders' and 'eyewitnesses' that arn't either at the scene or even real people. Just a reporters way of dramatizing a story that doesn't have any drama or real weight to it.
It's not like the RFL are going to have the 'industry insider' rubbed out for saying they got backed into a corner regarding sponsorship is it?
What has happened is the RFL have got a new partner on board and they have revealed why they have sponsored SL in a really positive statement.

That's the kind of attitude that got us the awful deal with Stobart. The RFL were so desperate to get a blue chip company "sponsoring" us that they got the game an awful deal.
It makes no difference to people what sort of company sponsors us. Our international squad is sponsored by one of the biggest companies in the world. Yet no one ever mentions the fact Gillette sponsor us.
We had a big company in Stobart sponsor us and it damaged the sport IMO Engage won't a big company but their sponsorship of the game was superb.
It's not about who sponsors the game, it's about whether the deal is good for the game.

| Any ideas who these "to be announced" sponsors will be next week?.
I can't see it being anybody from the betting industry if William Hill are still associate sponsors.
On T.V we seem to be bombarded with two kind of adverts...one is for Bingo websites and the other is Pay day loan companies
I will have a punt on either the Irn Bru or Heinz Big Soup(er) League.

wonder how much Gillette paid for that? Genuine question BTW.....a lot of companies and sports organisations are happy to release the figures.

| Wheels you really dont get it do you. Man Utd are a massive brand in their own right with huge support in Asia and Africa hence why the largest paint company in that region want to connect with them.
We get a Bingo company. Bingo (generally classed as being a "lower class" pastime) played in social clubs, caravan parks and butlins-Are you starting to see the link- Hence why we need to break out of the M62 region and become more attractive to larger sponsors and bring in larger sums of sponsorship

We get a company that has a 13% share in a £600m market, owned by one of the biggest brands in the world (Bwin).
Bingo as a game originated in Italy in the 1500s.
Money in the sport is money in the sport. You really don't get it do you?
