For clarity, I want the RFL to do as much to help Salford as they did Bradford. Just not necessarily exactly the same things as the two situations are somewhat different.'"
No they didn’t.
After the initial loan, which Bradford failed to pay back a penny piece, they then gave them some more cash & took the lease off Bradford’s hands.
The biggest conundrum is why are Bradford receiving less Sky monies for the next two years?
I would hazard a guess that in two years time Bradford will hold the lease once again & the other clubs have received a bonus payment for their complicity.
You’re right, the two situations are very different, Bradford had a tangible asset to bargain with, and Salford have got sod all.

Bradford's then owners were quoted as saying that the RFL had basically taken back the cash they'd been given for the lease, as repayment for the loan they never paid back. I don't have full details but it sounds like one at least of the sums advanced was taken away prior to administration.

Isn't this repayment for the SL monies advanced to pay wages?

I guess we'll see, but I don't think that's what the deduction of Sky monies is for.

We're also at two different parts of the season.

The RFL lent Bradford a substantial amount of cash in the off-season on the quiet. When they realised no repayments were been made they then came out with the legendary statement about saving the “Iconic” stadium from charlatans, by stumping up some more cash and taking over the lease.
Quote: Kosh "Isn't this repayment for the SL monies advanced to pay wages?'"
Nobody knows the truth, however, the amount being withheld from Bradford equates to the amount it cost the RFL to purchase it – I’ll draw my own conclusions.
Quote: Kosh "I guess we'll see, but I don't think that's what the deduction of Sky monies is for.'"
Allegedly, the rest of the clubs are in receipt of extra Sky monies, which also equates to the amount being withheld from Bradford, it’s funny how all the clubs went along with the RFL’s grand plan back in the summer, without the prospect of a sweetener.
Quote: Kosh "We're also at two different parts of the season.'"
I appreciate that, however, we are in the middle of a licensing period, the connotations of removing one club from the competition even before that season begins is a logistical nightmare.

Lol, maybe Holdsworth will return given he is a Perth lad.
I think we might struggle to convince our lads to leave the sunniest city in the world to play in one of the glummiest!

How many times are you going to have to battle with this conundrum? They should pose this as a GCSE question.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| I merely posed a problem which we could very still encounter and some bitter "I don't care about this or that I just spend my life on here" fool took me off on a largely irrelevant points tangeant and got me worked up.
You can all score your petty victory if you want, fact remains that if Salford can't start the season we will have this problem. It's hardly my fault the RFL introduced this ludicrously unfair system of one extra game for points which is largely dependent on the opponents you get. I forgot they had been so stupid. Whoopee.
Potential problem: Salford don't start the season.
Meaning: We need a bye round. We will also have an odd team (mine) at Magic Weekend with no fixture and a disadvantage.
I offered a potential solution. Any others? No?

| If the worst did happen and we were forced to run with a 13 team SL for this year then surely the most sensible thing to do with the Magic Weekend would be to play the last 16 of the Challenge Cup at that event (offering those who have already bought tickets the option of a refund if they no longer want to attend). That way there are still competitive games played over the two days. No team should be either denied the opportunity to gain league points or be gifted the points due to no longer having an opponent. Playing cup matches means that the points related problem would be removed and the event wouldn't be a set of pointless friendlies that would likely end up as under 19s games.
Though hopefully there will be no need for such a rearrangement as Salford will survive.

No you didnt, you just didnt think it through, even when given the opportunity to ,the solution is that Salford get supported through the next 2 seasons until the structure of SL can be re assessed
