Quote: j.c "what you on about again.
you said that i said championship clubs should get equal funding to what the top league get,i never said anything of the sort, stop making things up,you already sound like a fool.
So you now accept it comes from central funding?'" No, I never said that you explicitly stated that Championship clubs should get an equal share. I said you implied that and, as I have pointed out, you did. You claimed that Super League clubs were in the wrong for receiving most of the central funding. If Super League clubs didn't receive 'most' of the funding, that would mean the Championship clubs would have to receive at least an equal share. I'm not sure why you are trying to contradict this now, as anyone with a basic grasp of the English language can clearly see what you posted. Equally I'm not sure why you are nit-picking this and not replying to any of my other points, unless of course you agree with them. I've never once attempted to deny that Super League clubs do not receive central funding, why would I try to deny something that is clearly obvious to everyone? You were the one who stated that Championship clubs should be given money from the Super League TV contract, despite the fact that they make absolutely no contribution to that money being earned. If you want to continue to pretend then you didn't say that then you can, but here is a link to the post: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=526322&p=16872409&tsmp=1335662557#p16872409

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| 2 tier SL is the way forward to be. Gives the opportunity to improve standards to 20 SL clubs, not just 14 of which 4 get spanked week in and week out. Widnes have conceded 500 points already, and London get crowds of 1500. How is that sustainable?
The other factor is quality youngsters not being able to play for their primary team. At least there is a great opportunity for these guys to play for a quality team rather than stay in limbo.
Its time to take the SL blinkers off folks. P&R will still exist and will give us the opportunity to expand the interest with 10 elite and 10 SL teams.

Get LEIGH outta wigan: |

| Quote: SmokeyTA "I think you are reading far too much into the term 'central funding'. Central funding doesnt indicate that this money was the RFL's to do with as they pleased, it just means it came from the central source. the £30m was funds distributed to all member clubs, not just SL clubs, of which about £15m was distributed to SL clubs as payment for TV rights. Payments made from Sky, to SLE, then to the clubs, would be classed as 'central funding' even though SLE is owned by the SL clubs.
In fact, the synopsis of the 2010 annual report of the RFL shows this is actually what happens. Funds are paid, from Sky, to a company owned by the clubs and then distributed to those same clubs i.e it never belonged to the RFL.
This link will show you that the RFL had income of £22.8m in 2010, but the total central income across the RFL and SLE was £48.2m,
How can i look to deeply into it.the article said the rfl distributed 30 million from central fund, thats pretty conclusive to me

1230.gif “You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”:1230.gif |

| Why shouldn't the RFL distribute funds the game generates to all area of the game? Any money the game received should be distributed in a manner that is best for the game as a whole, the Sky TV contract is the largest source of income and is for live Super league games but as Super league would not exist without the rest of the game then the rest of the game deserves a share, not an equal share per club (can't believe I have to even specify that) but one which is in the best interests of the game as a whole, that is what a strong well organised governing body should do

| I'm not entirely clear what happened in 1995 as regards funding. But I doubt if the majority of the clubs would have agreed to the Super League being formed if they'd known how it was to turn out financially for those not included. That also goes for the gap in playing standards that has developed. The problem is that the SL clubs look at everything in terms of what's best for their particular club and the devil take the rest. Nothing wrong with that but surely the RFL should arbitrate and work out what's fair and what's best for the game as a whole.
There's always talk of expansion but it'll never happen properly while we have a situation where 3 or 4 clubs dominate the league and hand out spankings to the rest week in week out, including the expansion club. Like Garry Schofield says, I don't count Catatans as an expansion, more a revivial of something that was already there. I would say to a lesser degree this also applies to Widnes.

What could they have done about it? Had they disagreed, the SL clubs could just have formed a breakaway competition to which the others would have had zero chance of joining at any stage.

| Most clubs paniced as they were were in debt. Some clubs used the money well. Some had to improve their grounds.16 years on, some grounds are just horrible places to visit !

| Quote: major hound "I certainly agree with this. And what were the old Yorkshire and Lancashire Leagues if not conferences by another name - with inter-conference games based on league position the previous season. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we should go back to county leagues, but we should certainly look at that system. What any sport needs in order to progress is dynamism. Preserving the status quo which is what the current Super League system is all about it a recipe for eventual extinction.'"
This could credance to some kind of origin series at some point in the season. However the gulf in class between top and bottom in each section would be far greater than we have in SL at the moment.

Its only conclusive if you decide that 'central funds' means RFL money rather than simply money which comes from a central source. Which is absolute nonsense

Because it doesnt belong to the governing body, isnt paid to the government body, isnt controlled by the government body and legally the government body has no right whatsoever to distribute it outside of the terms of SLE.
That money belongs to SLE, it is paid to SLE, the RFL has as much right to distribute the Sky TV money for SLE as it does to distribute the Sky tv money from the premier league.
